Yesterday, we reported that Kate Middleton had announced that she is finally cancer free after completing her chemotherapy treatments. Now, her husband Prince William has broken his silence to address this news.
William Speaks Out On Kate’s Condition
William, 42, opened up about Kate’s condition to well-wishers while visiting Llanelli, Wales on Tuesday.
“It’s good news, but there is still a long way to go,” William said during a walkabout.
William said this while walking by the gates of Swiss Valley Community Primary School. He thanked those gathered there who asked about his wife, saying to one person, “She is better, and thank you.”
When William approached the group of royal fans, he greeted them by saying, “bore da” (which means “good morning” in Welsh). He then shook their hands and received the cards they gave him.
Kate ‘Is So Loved’
Jane Stoneman, who was one of the well-wishers at the gates, gave William a letter to give to his wife.
“I said it was great to see Kate was better and recovering,” she told People Magazine. “I told him I enjoyed the video and asked him to give her the card and all my love.”
“He said, ‘She is better. Thank you very much,'” Stoneman continued. “It’s absolutely fabulous that he took the time to come. They work very hard — we’re lucky to have them. Catherine and the family will do all of us in this country good.”
Stoneman went on to discuss the touching video that Kate released on Monday in which she revealed her cancer free status.
“It was a beautiful video — it made me cry,” Stoneman admitted. “They are human, aren’t they? Catherine has been through such a difficult time, and to see she is so loved by her family is lovely. As she said, it’s all about love and being loved.”
Kate Reveals She’s Cancer Free
Kate used this video to let royal fans know that she is currently cancer free.
“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” Kate began in the video. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.
“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” she continued. “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.”

‘William And I Are So Grateful’
Kate went on to say that while she’s cancer free, she knows that she still has a long road to recovery ahead of her.
“Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus,” she said. “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes. I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”
“Despite all that has gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life,” she added. “”William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling.”
