Princess Kate Middleton was spotted for the first time in weeks on Sunday as she continues her battle with cancer.

Royals Attend Church As Kate Reemerges

Kate, 42, was seen attending a morning service at Crathie Kirk church in the Scottish village of Crathie, near the royal family’s Balmoral estate. She went to the service with Prince William and their oldest child Prince George, 11. Their other two children Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, were not in attendance.

Kate looked as elegant as ever as she wore a plaid Holland Cooper coat. She paired this with a matching brown felt feather hat and dangling gold earrings. Meanwhile, 42 year-old William wore a crisp navy suit.

William and Kate appeared to be in good spirits as they made their way to church. They could be seen smiling and chatting with one another lovingly.

Joining them were King Charles III, who is also battling cancer, and his wife, Queen Camilla. Charles’ brother, Prince Edward, and his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, were at the church service as well with their son James.

Kate’s Olympic Message

This was the first time that Kate was seen since she and William shared a video message from home to mark the end of the Paris Olympic Games. In the video, Kate and William congratulated Great Britain’s athletes on their success in the games.

“From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB,” Kate said in the video, with William adding, “Well done on all you’ve achieved. You’ve been an inspiration to us all.”

“Well done @teamgb, what an incredible journey!” they wrote in the caption of the video. “Every athlete showed immense dedication, heart and passion. You made us all so proud!”

Kate’s Cancer Diagnosis

Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis back in March, but didn’t specify the type of cancer that she’s suffering from. Instead, Kate simply said that she was undergoing “preventative chemotherapy” and was “in the early stages of that treatment.”

Kate also said that the cancer was discovered when she underwent abdominal surgery in January.

“At the time, it was thought that my condition was noncancerous,” she said. “The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”

Despite this diagnosis, Kate made it clear that she was trying to stay positive.

“I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal in my mind, body and spirits,” she said.

Kate’s Chemotherapy Update

Back in June, Kate updated the public on her cancer battle.

“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days,” she wrote. “On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”

“My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months,” she continued. “On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.”

It’s nice to see Kate get out and about again. Please join us in saying a prayer for her as her cancer battle continues!
