Singer Justin Timberlake was arrested for DWI back in June. He has since pleaded guilty to driving while impaired in connection with the incident.
Now, Timberlake has gotten some potentially good news, as the bodycam footage from his arrest will not be released.
Timberlake Bodycam Footage To Remain Sealed
TMZ put in a public records request for the bodycam footage of the traffic stop that led to Timberlake’s arrest on June 18.
The Office of the Suffolk County District Attorney has since responded by saying that the footage will not be released because both parties agreed to seal it. This means that prosecutors and Timberlake’s legal team were each of the same opinion that the footage should not be made public.
Last week, Timberlake, 43, agreed to a plea deal that saw him plead guilty to a less serious offense. He pled guilty to Driving While Ability Impaired, which is essentially just a traffic violation. While the word “impaired” is used, it should be noted that legally speaking, this is not a “drunk driving” offense.
The deal also states that Timberlake must pay a $500 fine. This won’t be a problem for Timberlake, who has an estimated net worth of $250 million!

Timberlake’s Apology
Sources told Daily Mail that a crucial aspect of the deal was Timberlake’s willingness to do a public service video for the organization Mothers Against Drunk Driving. After taking the deal, Timberlake urged others not to make the mistake that he made.
“Even if you’ve had one drink, don’t get behind the wheel of a car. There’s so many alternatives — call a friend, take an Uber, there’s many travel apps, take a taxi,” Timberlake said outside the Sag Harbor courthouse.
“This is a mistake that I made, but I’m hoping that whoever is watching and listening right now can learn from this mistake,” he continued. “I know that I certainly have.”
While in the courtroom, Timberlake told the judge that he felt a great sense of “disappointment” in himself.
“I found myself in a position where I should’ve taken a moment,” he said. “I understand and appreciate the seriousness of this.”
Timberlake went on to take “a moment to show gratitude to everybody involved.” He then apologized for putting a “strain” on the small town in the Hamptons.

Timberlake Won’t Have A Criminal Record
Thanks to Timberlake’s plea deal, he won’t have a criminal record. While some feel that he is getting off easy, the Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney claimed that he was treated like any other offender.
“The one thing that we want to make sure we’re doing is … being consistent, and we don’t want to treat any defendant better than others because of … any perceived notoriety they may have,” Tierney told Page Six.
“But we certainly don’t want to treat people worse for the same reason,” he continued. “So we’re taking pains to make sure that we’re treating this case like any other case of its kind.”
Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York in the early hours of June 18. He was pulled over while driving his BMW X7 home from a night out with friends at the ritzy American Hotel in the Hamptons.
After approaching Timberlake, officers claimed that he was “glassy-eyed” and that he smelled of alcohol.
“His eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” court papers read.
Timberlake’s arrest report showed that he’d told officers that he’d “had one martini and I followed my friends home.”
The singer spent the night in custody and was released the next morning.
Timberlake is currently on his international Forget Tomorrow World Tour, which is set to go through June 2025. His next show is scheduled to take place in Newark, New Jersey on September 28.
It remains to be seen if this DWI incident will have any negative impact on Timberlake’s career.
