Last month, we reported that the former Friends star Jennifer Aniston had been targeted by an alleged stalker who was arrested at her Los Angeles mansion after crashing his car into her gates. Now, Aniston is speaking out to send a chilling warning to Hollywood in the wake of this terrifying incident.
Aniston’s Warning To Hollywood
Aniston, 56, admitted to Vanity Fair that her security team is “not glamorous in any way.” However, “it’s a necessity” for her to have them around. That’s why she’s speaking out to warn other Hollywood stars that they need to take action to protect themselves.
“People are out of their minds,” she lamented. “Who wants to put that energy out there?”
Though Aniston loves acting, she’s learned the hard way that there are downsides to her level of fame. She admitted that this “still hits me sideways sometimes.”
“You have to manage it and put it in its proper place and into its proper size,” Aniston advised. “Because otherwise, if you don’t… I’ve gone through many… I’m still trying to figure it out.”
Aniston’s Stalking Incident
This was a clear reference to the horrifying stalking incident that Aniston fell victim to on May 5. On that date. a man later identified as Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, 48, was arrested after crashing his car into the gates of Aniston’s $21 million sprawling hilltop Bel-Air mansion.
Aniston was home at the time. Luckily, her security team was able to apprehend Carwyle before he could get to her. They held him at gunpoint until police arrived to arrest him.
According to prosecutors, Carwyle “repeatedly” harassed Aniston between March 1, 2023 and May 5, 2025. During that time, he hounded her with “unwanted social media, voicemail, and email messages.”
In these messages, Carwyle allegedly described Aniston as his “bride” and his “true soulmate.”
Carwyle’s wife Julia later told Daily Mail that “he believes he was Jesus Christ and that she was supposed to be his queen.”
Carwyle reportedly made three trips from their home in Mississippi to California in the hopes of meeting Aniston.
“He went to California six months ago. He left in September and went and I haven’t seen him since he left, he was leaving that day to go,” Julia said. She added that her husband “was going there because he was going to meet up with Jennifer. He was going to go see her.”
Carwyle was charged with multiple felonies. However, he was later found to be incompetent to stand trial.
Sandra Bullock Weighs In
Aniston’s fellow A-list actress Sandra Bullock pointed out to Vanity Fair that this kind of celebrity stalking incident is sadly not a “one-off.” Indeed, she knows this better than anyone from her own past experience.
Back in 2014, Bullock hit in a closet after a man who had been stalking her for days successfully broke into her Los Angeles h0me. The man, later identified as Joshua Corbett, reportedly believed at the time that Bullock was his wife. When he broke into her mansion he was carrying a notebook full of photos of Bullock. Corbett also had poems and a love letter, all of which he had written for the Miss Congeniality star.
“It makes me think, ‘Do I really have to go outside and navigate the world?’” said Bullock, 61. “There’s the cases where they got into the house, the cases where they’re outside the house, the cases where you’re on a film set, and they figured out where you are, and the cases that no one hears about.”
“It’s ongoing. It’s not a one-off,” she continued. “And it does create a mindset where your home also, unfortunately, becomes your fortress.”
Aniston Won’t Let Fame Define Her
As for Aniston, even after everything that she’s gone through, she’s determined to not let fame define her.
“It’s not real,” she explained. “My interests are other than that.”
“I’ve always been more into metaphysical things and ‘What if there’s something bigger out there than all of us?’” Aniston concluded.
