Over the past few weeks, rumors have been swirling that Meghan Markle is feuding with the Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow. On Tuesday, they took to social media to put these rumors to rest.
Gwyneth And Meghan Address Alleged Feud
Gwyneth, 52, took to her Instagram Story to post a video in which she responded to a fan question about her alleged feud with Meghan, the 43 year-old wife of Prince Harry.
“Are you comprehending the Meghan Markle beef that social media says you two have?” the question read.
“I genuinely do not understand this at all, whatsoever,” Gwyneth said directly to the camera as she sat in a kitchen. She then turned to someone off-camera and asked, “Do you understand this?”
When the camera panned over, Meghan appeared onscreen. She shrugged cluelessly as she enjoyed a piece of pie.
Clever! And pretty funny, actually!
Gwyneth Talks Meghan And Harry
Gwyneth has shifted away from acting in recent years to focus on her lifestyle brand Goop. Meanwhile, Meghan has been trying to rebrand herself as a lifestyle guru as of late with her new Netflix show With Love, Meghan, which dropped earlier this month. Many have accused Meghan of trying to copy Gwyneth, which is where the feud rumors stemmed from.
Last week, Gwyneth was asked about these claims by Vanity Fair.
“I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes,” Gwyneth responded. “I think there’s always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try.”
Gwyneth went on to allege that though she lives near Meghan and Harry in Montecito, California, she isn’t friends with them.
“I don’t know Meghan and Harry,” she admitted. “I mean, I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all. Maybe I’ll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie.”
And we’ll be darned if she didn’t do just that!

PR Expert Weighs In
While they may not be feuding, experts believe that Gwyneth is winning the “influencer game” over Meghan. Indeed, PR expert Chad Teixeira told Daily Mail that Gwyneth “has always played the influencer game with a kind of elegant mischief.”
“She knows exactly how to stir conversation without ever getting her hands messy,” Chad explained. “That shared Instagram Story with Meghan is a perfect example. It’s just ambiguous enough to get everyone talking: is it shade? Is it support? Is it both? Classic Gwyneth.”

With Love, Meghan
This comes as Meghan’s attempt to become a lifestyle guru appears to be backfiring. Her Netflix show With Love, Meghan has been widely panned by critics and fans alike. Many believe that Meghan comes off as “inauthentic” in her attempts to become a lifestyle influencer. Variety blasted With Love, Meghan as being a “Montecito ego trip not worth taking” in a review that held nothing back.
“The show plays out like a forced march, one in which Meghan’s guests must, as the price of getting to share an afternoon in a made-for-TV kitchen with her, praise her first,” Variety stated. “With Love, Meghan is made with a great deal of love – in the sense that the greatest love of all is the one that a person has for herself.”

It appears that Gwyneth and Meghan aren’t feuding. However, it also seems that Gwyneth has no reason to feel threatened by Meghan in the lifestyle influencer world. In the end, Meghan Markle simply can’t measure up to Gwyneth Paltrow.
