It’s been two years since Queen Elizabeth passed away at the age of 96. No official cause of death for her has ever been given, with Buckingham Palace only saying that she died of “old age.”

Now, the former Prime Minister Boris Johnson is speaking out to claim that the Queen died of a rare but deadly form of bone cancer.

The Queen’s Alleged Bone Cancer Battle

Obviously, this claim should be taken with a grain of salt, but it’s worth checking out.

“I had known for a year or more that she had a form of bone cancer, and her doctors were worried that at any time she could enter a sharp decline,” Johnson wrote in his upcoming memoir “Unleashed.” “She seemed pale and more stooped, and she had dark bruising on her hands and wrists, probably from drips or injections.”

Johnson isn’t the only one to have made the claim, either.

Gyles Brandreth, a friend of Prince Philip, had previously claimed that the Queen had a form of bone marrow cancer.

“I had heard that the Queen had a form of myeloma — bone marrow cancer — which would explain her tiredness and weight loss and those ‘mobility issues’ we were often told about during the last year or so of her life,” he told Daily Mail.

“The most common symptom of myeloma is bone pain, especially in the pelvis and lower back, and multiple myeloma is a disease that often affects the elderly,” he continued. “Currently, there is no known cure, but treatment — including medicines to help regulate the immune system and drugs that help prevent the weakening of the bones — can reduce the severity of its symptoms and extend the patient’s survival by months or two to three years.”

Bone Cancer

Bone cancer is known to be rare. Indeed, it accounts for less than 1 percent of all cancer diagnosed each year, with only around 600 cases. This form of cancer is incredibly deadly. Only about 50 percent of bone cancer patients are expected to live five years after being diagnosed.

Bone cancer can develop in any bone in the body. However, it is most commonly found in the long bones of the arms and legs. Bone cancer symptoms include persistent bone pain that gets worse over time and that continues into the night. Other symptoms are swelling and redness over a bone, weak bones that fracture more easily, and problems moving.

Surgery to remove the cancerous bone and replace it with an artificial substitute is sometimes possible. In some cases, doctors say that amputation can be necessary. This combined with chemotherapy and radiotherapy are meant to target the tumor directly.

The Queen’s Death

The Queen was 96 years-old when she died on September 8, 2022. This came after she sat on the British throne for a record-breaking 70 years.

No cause of death for the Queen has ever been made public. Her death certificate only listed “old age” as the cause. Find out more about this in the video below.

While the Queen lived a long life, we simply were not ready to let her go when it came time for her to pass. It’s sad to learn that she likely spent her final days suffering from such an aggressive form of cancer. We can all find comfort in knowing that the Queen is at peace now and is no longer in pain.
