The legendary KISS bassist Gene Simmons served as a guest judge on Dancing With The Stars on Tuesday night. Unfortunately for him, however, it didn’t go so well. Indeed, fans are now accusing him of being “creepy” and giving overly harsh scores to contestants.

Simmons In Hot Water For ‘Creepy’ Behavior

Simmons, 75, joined judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli for Tuesday’s episode. The show’s theme featured dances set to 80s hair metal hits like “Cherry Pie”, “Rock You Like a Hurricane”, and more.

Simmons was branded as being “creepy” for focusing more on the female dancers’ looks than their moves. When critiquing the former NFL star Danny Amendola and his professional dancer partner Witney Carson, Simmons said that he couldn’t figure out which was more “hot hot hot.”

Which could be creepy, or funny, or even cute, depending on your view. For many fans, it was the first one!

Simmons also told the former Family Matters star Reginald VelJohnson’s partner Emma Slater that she is “a beautiful woman.” He later told the former Disney star Chandler Kinney that she “fogged up my glasses.” He added that she “moved me, not just with your gyrations and such but with your beautiful face.”

Fans Respond

Fans took to social media to rip into Simmons for his remarks.

“Gene simmons made the worst guest judge on Dancing With The Stars. Definitely gave some entertaining tv i guess,” one fan commented.

Another added, “ABC needs to issue an apology after having Gene Simmons on there and subjecting their cast to that . Why didn’t a producer tell him to knock it off?”

“From sweet Ilona messing up to them torturing her more during the elimination to chandler getting underscored to practically seeing the same dance 500 million times to that whack [expletive] creepy [expletive] judge gene this night was a CHOP,” a third user commented.

“The most unhinged night of dwts ever.. let’s maybe never have Gene Simmons back again please and Thank You,” someone else commented.

Yet another fan wrote, “During commercial breaks, producers of #DWTS should have told Mr Gene Simmons to stop commenting on all of the women’s looks. I’ve only seen 3 dances so far & I’m over his irrelevant remarks about the women when he is supposed to be commenting/’judging’ their dancing!”

Simmons Gives Harsh Scores

Simmons has also been accused of being overly harsh with his scores. After the former The Bachelor star Jenn Tran earned scores of eight from the other judges, Simmons said “don’t hate me” as he gave her a seven.

Simmons proceeded to shock everyone by giving the Real Housewives star Phaedra Parks a five while the other judges all gave her sevens. Parks and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy were visibly stunned by this. Simmons had also not given Tran or Parks any negative feedback, making the low scores all the more surprising.

Even host Julianne Hough expressed her shock.

“It’s a wild night tonight,” Hough said as she shrugged. “Alright, well, we can’t say it enough times, you have to vote to save your favorites from tonight’s double elimination.”

The night ended with VelJohnson and the Oscar-nominated actor Eric Roberts, the older brother of Julia Roberts, being eliminated in the second double elimination of the season. This leaves eight remaining celebrities in the competition.

Dancing With The Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET. In the end, it seems likely that Simmons won’t be appearing on it again!
