The KISS frontman Gene Simmons is speaking out this week to reveal what he really thinks about the pop star Taylor Swift.
Some KISS fans will likely be surprised to learn that Simmons is actually a Swiftie!
Simmons Praises Swift
“There’s no question, Taylor Swift has taken over and she’s great,” Simmons, 74, told Page Six.
“I’m a fan. I know her, and she’s a really solid person,” he added. “Other than that, I’m not sure what’s cool.”
That being said, Simmons doesn’t think that the artists of today strike up quite as much excitement as the music icons of the past did.
“When we were growing up in the ’60s, we had Led Zeppelin, The [Rolling] Stones, The Beatles, Elvis, Pink Floyd, Madonna, Motown and all of that… Prince, David Bowie. All of that was happening at the same time,” Simmons explained. “What’s happening now?”

Simmons Talks KISS And Swift
Though KISS took their final bow together in December of 2023, Simmons is still close to his bandmates Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer.
“I have nothing to complain about. No woulda, coulda, shoulda. Been there, done that,” Simmons said. “Obviously we’re in communication, between emails and texts and all that. Every other day we text and talk to each other.”
This interview wasn’t the first time that Simmons has spoken out about Swift, 34.
“When it comes to Taylor Swift, I can say there is a direct connection between her and Kiss in that you can see footage online of Taylor and her band coming out in KISS make up,” Simmons told The National in October of last year.
This was a reference to Swift’s guest appearance at a Keith Urban concert in 2014. Check that out in the video below.
“Even now when it comes to EDM shows, all that fireworks and lights come from rock and more specifically KISS,” Simmons continued.
“I think this is great because the idea of a concert, if you do it well, is to make the people who paid their hard-earned money to see you forget about the traffic jams and all the problems for that period of time,” he added.

Paul Stanley Praises Swift
Last year, KISS member Stanley spoke out to gush over Swift after attending one of her concerts in Los Angeles with his wife and daughters.
“Took Erin, Sarah and Emily to see Taylor Swift Last Night!” Stanley wrote on social media afterwards. “[Six] shows at SoFi Stadium for a total of A HALF MILLION PEOPLE and I know why… PHENOMENAL SHOW BY A PHENOMENAL ARTIST. Thanks to her staff for rolling out the red carpet for us.”
Swift is arguably the most popular singer in the world right now. Her Eras Tour is the highest grossing tour ever. It’s also the first tour to make $1 billion in just eight months. In April of this year, Swift herself was officially declared a billionaire by Forbes.
Swift has yet to respond to Simmons’ endorsement of her. However, we can assume that she’s incredibly honored to know that one of the best rockers of all time is a proud Swiftie!
