Back in November, we reported that the comedian Ellen DeGeneres had fled America and moved across the world to the United Kingdom. Since then, DeGeneres has been laying low in her new home with her actress wife Portia de Rossi of Arrested Development fame.
On Monday, DeGeneres reemerged to give fans a rare look at her new life in the British countryside. Indeed, she did so by posting a video to Instagram that showed her dealing with some unexpected houseguests.
DeGeneres Reemerges In The U.K.
DeGeneres, 67, posted a series of clips showing a group of sheep walking into her home from the surrounding farmland.
“Our sheep keep coming inside,” DeGeneres wrote in the accompanying caption. “To be fair, we do have a piece of furniture that looks like a sheep, but that one doesn’t try to eat our rugs.”
In the first clip, four sheep can be seen entering through a set of large, wide-open folding glass doors. One of the sheep walks up to DeGeneres’ dog Kid, who is so shocked by this that he leaves his fluffy white bed.
“They’re coming inside?” de Rossi, 52, can be heard exclaiming.
“Yeah, they’re inside,” DeGeneres replies.
In the next clip, one of the sheep is seen exploring another part of the property. Meanwhile, another sheep wanders around outside the large glass window panes. Finally, de Rossi herds the sheep outside as she giggles at the absurdity of the situation.

DeGeneres Flees America
Fans were stunned when it was revealed back in November that DeGeneres had fled America to move to Europe.
“Ellen was in England house hunting in the beginning of October,” a source told People Magazine at the time. “She ended up finding a house that she loved and purchased it shortly after.”
In March, DeGeneres officially cut ties with America when she sold her last property in the U.S. She and de Rossi settled in a multi-million dollar farmhouse in the Cotswolds, a celebrity hotspot. The Cotswolds is a rural area of Southwest England that is located around 100 miles from London.
Other stars who call Cotswolds home include David and Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, Patrick Stewart, Elizabeth Hurley, Jeremy Clarkson, and Damien Hirst. King Charles himself even owns property in the area.

DeGeneres’ Move Abroad Has ‘Been Difficult’
Unfortunately for DeGeneres and de Rossi, however, this move hasn’t quite been as smooth as they hoped it would be. Indeed, the two Hollywood elites are used to the good life in Southern California. It turns out that life in the British countryside is a bit more challenging.
“It’s been difficult at times because they do miss the comfort of things back in America,” an insider close to the couple recently told In Touch Weekly.
Despite this, DeGeneres and de Rossi are still trying to stay positive. The source went on to say that DeGeneres and de Rossi have “navigated plenty of hiccups” over the years. They’ve been together since 2008.
“So they weren’t all that thrown off by the stumbling blocks they’ve faced in the U.K.,” the insider alleged.
These “stumbling blocks” have included their $15 million Cotswolds home in the British countryside being plagued by floods. This resulted in extensive damage that undoubtedly cost DeGeneres and de Rossi a pretty penny.
DeGeneres and de Rossi were eventually forced to completely flee the home. They then had to move to another mansion located about thirty minutes away from their original property.
DeGeneres’ latest video of sheep wandering into her new home is yet another reminder that life abroad can be a bit more difficult than life in the states. Only time will tell how much longer DeGeneres is able to “rough it” in her new home in the British countryside!
