In November of last year, we reported that the comedian Ellen DeGeneres had fled America. She then moved across the world to the United Kingdom. DeGeneres has since been laying low in England with her actress wife Portia de Rossi of Arrested Development fame.
Now, DeGeneres has reemerged to give fans a tour of her new home in the British countryside.
DeGeneres Gives Fans House Tour
DeGeneres, 67, took to Instagram on Sunday to show off her lavish new home in the ritzy celebrity rural hotspot the Cotswolds.
“They’ve finally figured it out. We’ve all been sad since losing Augie,” DeGeneres wrote in the caption. This was a reference to the rescue dog that she and de Rossi, 52, tragically lost back in May.
“Sport has brought so much joy into the house and it makes us so happy to see Kid play again, even though he has a very unique style of play,” she continued.
The video showed DeGeneres’ dogs playing in a large living space that contains a sleek glass table holding coffee table books and candles. The table is located on top of a gray and white geometric area rug.
In the background, large floor-to-ceiling windows can be seen. Indeed, they offer a breathtaking view of their lush landscaping.
DeGeneres then panned the video to show off her dining area. Viewers caught a glimpse of a long tiled table topped with candles. This table is surrounded by cream chairs.
A bar cart with top-shelf liquor can be seen behind the table. Near this bar cart is a neutral-colored couch and a green love seat.
The light-wash wood ceiling beams are complemented by simple honey-toned walls. A stone staircase leading to another room can be seen further back at one point in the video.

DeGeneres And de Rossi Flee America
DeGeneres and de Rossi fled America after Donald Trump won his second presidential election in November of last year.
They initially settled on a 43-acre property that is known as Kitesbridge Farm. However, they only stayed there a month before moving to their current larger home. DeGeneres later revealed that they did this to accommodate de Rossi’s horses.
“When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn’t live without her horses,” DeGeneres said in July. “We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them.”
DeGeneres went on to say that their new home looks like it belongs “in Malibu.”
Locals Speak Out On DeGeneres
Earlier this month, insiders who live near DeGeneres and de Rossi opened up about what life is like for them in their “small village.”
“They come in regularly, they are really chilled and very polite,” one local pub source told People Magazine. “They come in with their dogs, sometimes on their own and sometimes with other people.”
“One time, they asked to sit at the corner table presumably as it’s a bit more private,” the insider added. Referencing DeGeneres, the source explained that “everyone knows who she is, but they don’t bother her.”
“[Ellen’s] so nice and very down to earth,” the source concluded. “It’s a small village so of course everyone gossips, but I haven’t heard a single bad thing.”
DeGeneres may claim that she fled America because of Trump. However, many believe that she actually wanted to escape the negative reputation that she has in the United States. Indeed, many Americans have turned on DeGeneres ever since her toxic workplace scandal that shattered her image as “the queen of nice.”
In the end, we hope DeGeneres is happy enough with her new life to stay in England, because America is better off without her in it. Good riddance, Ellen DeGeneres!
