Back in November, we reported that the comedian Ellen DeGeneres had fled America. She then moved across the world to the United Kingdom. DeGeneres has since been laying low in England with her actress wife Portia de Rossi of Arrested Development fame.
Now, DeGeneres’ past has come back to haunt her as she’s been hit with some disturbing new claims. The latest chilling allegations involve the child of one of her own former staffers on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Disturbing New Claims About DeGeneres
Insiders are claiming that a high-ranking producer was urged to reschedule a major operation their child was having, just to make life more convenient for DeGeneres.
“The kid had a major surgery – like a bone marrow transplant,” another former staffer told Daily Mail. “It was asked of this particular person if the kid’s ‘thing’ – that’s what they referred to it as – was the same week as the Christmas holiday week.”
“This was a person pretty high up. This person was asked if they could move the procedure around the Christmas holiday week, for Ellen,” this insider continued. “They were there on the day of the taping that week – Ellen got exactly what she wanted. It was all loyalty to the show, but no loyalty to staff.”
How sick is that?!
DeGeneres’ Toxic Workplace Scandal
This is just the latest in a long line of negative claims about DeGeneres when it comes to her alleged behavior on the set of her talk show, which aired from 2003 until 2022. For much of that time, DeGeneres was known as the “Queen of Nice.” She even ended each episode by telling her audience to “be kind” to one another.
That all changed in 2020, when DeGeneres’ toxic workplace scandal broke. It was then that DeGeneres was accused of presiding over a set that was rampant with bullying, racism, and sexism.
“You wanted to avoid looking into what we called the ‘Ellen gaze,'” the insider claimed. “If she stayed looking at you, that was bad. Her eyes would get more narrow, her cheekbones would stick out. If she looked away from you, you were probably liked – you were probably ok.”
The source even compared DeGeneres’ stare to “the part in Indiana Jones where [the titular character] yells out ‘Don’t Look!’ at the deadly Arc of the Covenant relic that killed anyone who glanced at it.”
“She would stare into the crew area where she would slightly bob her head up and down while also head panning left to right like a queen looking for her next execution,” the former staffer recalled. ‘It was just weird. Cameras on, she’d be dancing, doing all this fun stuff, and cameras off, she was terrifying.”
DeGeneres Whines About Receiving ‘Hate’
In the years since her talk show ended, DeGeneres has lamented that she was “kicked out of show business” for being “mean.”
“The hate went on for a long time. And I would try to avoid looking at the news,” DeGeneres claimed last year. “The ‘be kind’ girl wasn’t kind. That was the headline.”
This played a major role in DeGeneres and de Rossi fleeing America. Indeed, they left at the end of 2024 and moved to England.
“Ellen really felt she had made her mark on the industry. But that was diminished when she was canceled over her alleged treatment of her staff,” a source told Daily Mail back in November. “Then to have celebrities call her out one by one was so hurtful.”
DeGeneres Tries To Leave Her Haters Behind
The insider went on to say that the “all the ill will towards” DeGeneres in America partly led to her decision to leave the country.
“She has the one person that still loves her, Portia, and she is ready to leave everyone who in her mind left her hanging out to dry. If she considers it her retirement, so be it,” the source continued. “An enormous part of the U.S. doesn’t like her because of her sexual preferences. And others were turned off by her persona, which some perceived to be fake in the wake of the work place allegations.”
“For Ellen, it’s easier to move away from her problems than to confront them,” this insider concluded. “It seems like a sad end to what she once was in people’s minds.”
In fleeing America, DeGeneres was clearly hoping that she could leave her damning past behind her. That’s why she undoubtedly won’t be happy that new allegations are coming to light against her. In the end, DeGeneres is learning the hard way that while she can run from her past, she can’t hide from it.
