Back in November, we reported that the comedian Ellen DeGeneres had fled America. She then moved across the world to the United Kingdom. DeGeneres has since been laying low in England with her actress wife Portia de Rossi of Arrested Development fame.

Last month, we reported that DeGeneres, 67, was eager to rebuild her television empire from England. Unfortunately for her, however, she’s now “facing the harsh reality” that she may never be able to relaunch her entertainment career.

DeGeneres Wanted ‘To Let The Dust Settle’

Over the past few weeks, fresh bullying claims have come to light about DeGeneres. This has been nothing short of a nightmare for DeGeneres. Indeed, she was hoping to leave her toxic workplace scandal behind her when she fled America.

“The whole point of Ellen going to the U.K. was to let the dust settle on the bullying scandal,” an insider alleged. “Her goal has always been to make a comeback. She’s just been waiting for enough time to pass.”

The Ellen DeGeneres Show aired in the United States from 2003 until 2022. For much of that time, DeGeneres was known as the “Queen of Nice.” She even ended each episode by telling her audience to “be kind” to one another.

That all changed in 2020, when DeGeneres’ toxic workplace scandal broke. It was then that DeGeneres was accused of presiding over a set that was rampant with bullying, racism, and sexism. This caused DeGeneres’ reputation to plummet in the States. It also played a huge role in DeGeneres and de Rossi fleeing America for England in November of 2024.

DeGeneres Flees America

The couple ultimately settled in the rural celebrity hotspot known as the Cotswolds. DeGeneres and de Rossi have claimed to love their new life in the British countryside. However, the source is alleging that DeGeneres is nothing short of desperate to relaunch her entertainment career.

“They’ve been making a big show of how much they love life in the Cotswolds, but it’s an open secret that Ellen is champing at the bit to get her career back on track,” the insider explained. “She’s been hitting up her contacts and feeling quietly confident, especially with all the talk about Kelly Clarkson stepping down from her daytime show to focus on her music career.”

That’s why it came as devastating news to DeGeneres at the end of last month when disturbing new claims against her came to light.

A former cameraman who worked on her talk show alleged to Daily Mail that DeGeneres would get so jealous that she’d become enraged if male staffers were caught speaking to her wife. The former staffer claimed that DeGeneres would turn cold with male employees “if they were ever caught in conversation with Portia.”

“It was just weird,” the ex-staffer recalled. “Cameras on, she’d be dancing, doing all this fun stuff, and cameras off, she was terrifying.”

DeGeneres Hit With A ‘Harsh Reality’

With these new claims making headlines, DeGeneres is facing the “harsh reality” that her dreams of reigniting a career in entertainment might be dead in the water forever.

“This has ignited the whole scandal again and it’s hit Ellen like a ton of bricks,” the insider said. “She’s smart enough to know it’s a huge turnoff for anyone wanting to hire her. Ellen’s now facing the harsh reality that she’s never going to rebuild her reputation.”

“Someone always seems to come crawling out the woodwork to dredge up the past,” the source concluded. “It’s put her in a foul mood and as usual poor Portia is bearing the brunt of it.”

In the end, it seems that it might simply be too late for DeGeneres. Here’s hoping that she gets used to her new life in the U.K., because it appears that DeGeneres may have burned all her bridges in America. Sad!
