Back in November, we reported that the comedian Ellen DeGeneres had fled America. She then moved across the world to the United Kingdom. Ellen has since been laying low in England with her actress wife Portia de Rossi of Arrested Development fame.

Now, Ellen has reemerged with a new hair color that has shocked her longtime fans. Indeed, the former The Ellen DeGeneres Show host is looking very different these days!

Ellen’s New Hair

Ellen, 67, took to Instagram on Wednesday to wish her older brother Vance DeGeneres a happy 71st birthday.

“Happy birthday to you my funny smart talented brother,” DeGeneres wrote. “I love you. @vancenotvance.”

Ellen wrote this alongside a rare photo of herself with her brother. The image revealed that Ellen and her brother now have the same hair color: dark gray.

This shocked Ellen’s fans, as she had been blonde for decades. It seems that in her new home in England, Ellen is no longer bothering to dye her hair.

Ellen And Vance’s History

Ellen and Vance have always been close, as he also works in the entertainment world. He previously worked as a writer on her sitcom Ellen between 1996 and 1997. Vance also was a producer and writer on movies like The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, Crazy, Stupid, Love and Bull Durham.

When Ellen’s toxic workplace scandal exploded in 2020, Vance was quick to defend her. At the time, Ellen was being accused of presiding over a set on her talk show that was rife with racism, sexism, and bullying.

“If you think Ellen would knowingly allow bullying or racism on her show, you don’t know my sister,” Vance wrote on social media after the allegations came to light. “She has been and continues to be a bright light in a dark world. She’s one of the kindest, most generous people you’ll ever meet. And one of the funniest.”

Vance later doubled down by lamenting that Ellen was being “viciously attacked.” He added that the claims being made against her were “all bull-[expletive].”

“I’m sick and tired of my sister being attacked,” Vance said. “She always has – and always will – stand against bullying of any kind. She’s a smart, strong woman who has made a positive difference in the world.”

Ellen Whines About ‘Hate’ She’s Received

In the years since her talk show ended in 2022, Ellen has lamented that she was “kicked out of show business” for being “mean.”

“The hate went on for a long time. And I would try to avoid looking at the news,” Ellen claimed last year. “The ‘be kind’ girl wasn’t kind. That was the headline.”

This played a major role in Ellen and Portia fleeing America. Indeed, they left at the end of 2024 and moved to England.

“Ellen really felt she had made her mark on the industry. But that was diminished when she was canceled over her alleged treatment of her staff,” a source told Daily Mail back in November. “Then to have celebrities call her out one by one was so hurtful.”

‘A Sad End’ For Ellen DeGeneres

The insider went on to say that the “all the ill will towards” Ellen in America partly led to her decision to leave the country.

“She has the one person that still loves her, Portia, and she is ready to leave everyone who in her mind left her hanging out to dry. If she considers it her retirement, so be it,” the source continued. “An enormous part of the U.S. doesn’t like her because of her sexual preferences. And others were turned off by her persona, which some perceived to be fake in the wake of the work place allegations.”

“For Ellen, it’s easier to move away from her problems than to confront them,” this insider concluded. “It seems like a sad end to what she once was in people’s minds.”

Judging by her new hair, Ellen has made quite a few changes since moving to England. Only time will tell if Ellen ever comes crawling back to America. However, we can confirm that America is better off without Ellen DeGeneres in it, regardless of her hair color.

Good riddance!
