The beloved Duck Dynasty star Uncle Si Robertson was rushed to the hospital last week after a tragic hunting accident. Now, his fellow Duck Call Room podcast hosts are giving fans an update on his condition.

Uncle Si’s Hunting Accident

Fans immediately noticed that Uncle Si was absent from the January 23 episode of Duck Call Room. His fellow hosts explained what exactly happened that led to Uncle Si being rushed to the emergency room.

Uncle Si, Duck Commander general manager Justin Martin, and two other friends recently embarked on a hunting trip in Arkansas. They all got on a boat together so that they could go check on their duck blinds.

All was going well until they reached the shore, where it quickly became clear that Uncle Si wanted to get off the boat as soon as possible. His eagerness led to sloppiness and… that’s when the unfortunate accident happened.

“Typical Silas Robertson, he’s in a dang hurry to get out of the boat and into the Polaris, he fell,” Martin recalled. “He fell trying to get out of the boat…it’s steep right there. He went to take a long step instead of waiting on us.”

When Uncle Si fell, he hit an oxygen tank on his way down. Despite this, he still tried to hide his fall from his fellow hunters.

“He bounced right back up…he didn’t want anybody to see that he fell,” Martin continued.

But, he’s 76 years old!

Uncle Si Rushed To The Hospital

When the other guys asked how he was doing, Uncle Si said that he wasn’t feeling any pain. However, it quickly became clear to them that he was acting odd.

“We get back to the clubhouse, and breakfast is done and we’re looking up and there’s no Si,” Martin said. “He’s just sitting outside in the cold. I immediately thought he had a concussion because it was out of character.”

Perhaps the biggest “red flag” was that Uncle Si was being quiet. As any Duck Dynasty fan knows, it’s rare that Uncle Si doesn’t have something to say!

Once they were back in Louisiana, it became obvious that Uncle Si was indeed in pain, so they rushed him to the ER. There, doctors quickly determined that his oxygen levels were low. Thankfully, this was the only issue that they found besides some bruises on his ribs. Of course, “only” is relative – bruised ribs are one of the most painful injuries out there.

Martin believes that Uncle Si’s oxygen levels were low because he had begun to panic that something could be seriously wrong with him. As soon as he got the all-clear from doctors, Uncle Si’s oxygen levels normalized again. He was soon released from the hospital, and is now recovering at home with his wife and caretaker.
