It’s been six months since we reported that the Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had finalized their divorce. This came after 19 years of marriage and two daughters together.
At the end of April, we reported that Nicole and Keith’s two teenage daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, had “cut off” their father in the wake of this divorce.
Now, insiders are claiming that this has not sat well with the country music legend Dolly Parton, who has reportedly decided to take action. Indeed, sources are claiming that Dolly has taken Keith’s side, and that she has publicly turned on Nicole in a big way.
Dolly Gets Involved In Keith And Nicole’s Divorce
“The fact that Keith isn’t able to see his kids doesn’t sit well with Dolly,” an insider told Radar Online. “She says she can tell how upset he is and it tugs at her heart.”
“She knows how important his girls are to him, and to suddenly be shut out of their lives doesn’t seem right, not in Dolly’s view,” the source continued.
Nicole, 59, was granted custody of Sunday and Faith for 306 days a year. Meanwhile, Keith, 58, has the girls for the remaining 59 days of the year.
Though Keith has been putting on a brave face about this, Dolly, 80, knows how devastated he is behind the scenes. Insiders claim that Dolly has teamed up with Keith’s other friends to call Nicole out on his behalf, as they feel that the Oscar-winning actress is being unnecessarily cruel to him.
“The thing with Nashville is it’s a very small town,” a source explained. “People go way back and have all sorts of overlapping connections and they tend to support their own.”
The insider went on to say that Nashville’s country music community has been rallying behind Keith.
“They see this as a clear case of him getting treated badly by Nicole,” the source added.
This has left Nicole feeling frozen out by Nashville society. That’s why in the wake of her divorce, Nicole hasn’t been spending very much time in the Tennessee city, as she’s well aware that she’s not welcome there. Dolly has reportedly played a huge role in this.
“Dolly will always be polite to Nicole, but it’s not a secret that she’s on Keith’s side,” the insider concluded.
Nicole And Keith’s Split
Nicole and Keith secretly separated in June of 2025 after 19 years of marriage. Keith was the one who initiated the split. He then immediately moved out of the family home and into his own residence in Nashville.
Nicole then spent the summer desperately trying to save their marriage. The actress finally gave in and filed for divorce on September 30. It was only then that her fans learned that they had secretly been separated for months.
“She didn’t want this,” a source told People Magazine after Nicole filed. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”
Back in May, insiders claimed that Sunday and Faith had “cut off” Keith in the wake of the divorce.
“They’re icing him out,” a close friend of Keith’s told Daily Mail. “He feels disrespected and cast aside by his own daughters.”
That same month, Sunday attended the Met Gala with Nicole, seemingly in a show of solidarity.
“I know that the Met Gala scene was very hurtful,” the insider continued. “It was a public statement for Sunday. She’s definitely on her mom’s side. This public appearance is 100% a message of who she’s chosen.”
Keith Is ‘In A Lot Of Pain’
The source went on to say that the Met Gala moment was “obvious” to Keith. Even so, he still would have loved to be part of it, admitting he was “feeling FOMO (fear of missing out).”
“He’s a man in a lot of pain,” the insider lamented. “I’ve known him for 20 years. This is awful for him.”
“[The girls] are completely team Nicole and, right now, Keith is the bad guy,” another source claimed. “He loves those girls, but they are so angry at him and they’re blaming him.”
Divorce is never easy, particularly when there are children involved. If Dolly has felt the need to take action when it comes to this split, it must be even messier than we thought it was.
For the sake of everyone involved, here’s hoping that Sunday and Faith can reconcile with their father and have a close relationship with both of their parents moving forward. In the end, life is too short to hold grudges, especially when it comes to family.
Please join us in saying a prayer for Keith, Nicole and their daughters as they continue to navigate this challenging new chapter of their lives!
