Yesterday, we reported that the legendary Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne performed his final concert on Saturday. Now, it’s been revealed that the country music icon Dolly Parton sent Osbourne a touching message for his farewell concert.

Parton Honors Osbourne At His Farewell Concert

Osbourne, 76, performed a ten hour “Back To The Beginning” farewell concert in Birmingham, England on Saturday. Parton, 79, sent in a video message that was played at this epic event.

“Well, Ozzy Osbourne, it’s Dolly Parton here,” Parton began. “Now, I know you’re at home, and what a wonderful place to be, right? Are we supposed to be saying ‘Farewell to you?’ Well, I don’t think that’s going to happen.”

“How about we just say, ‘Good luck, God bless you, and we will see you somewhere down the road?'” she continued. “Anyway, I love you. I always have, and we’re going to miss you up on stage, but you know what? I wouldn’t be surprised if you show up somewhere else, and I’ll be there. Love you!”

Other Stars Honor Osbourne

Parton wasn’t the only legendary music icon to send a video message to Osbourne for his farewell concert. Indeed, Elton John sent one in as well.

“You are one of the most remarkable singers of our time. You are the king, you are the legend,” John stated in his message. “You’ve been through so much crap in the last few years. I hope this is the best day of your life so far.”

Celebrities who have nothing to do with the music world got in on the action as well. One such celebrity was the British comedian Ricky Gervais.

“My everlasting memory of you will be from when we were on the Graham Norton Show together and they had to stop the recording because we both needed a piss, so maybe have one before you go on stage tonight,” Gervais said. “Have a great one.”

Osbourne Retires From Performing

Osbourne announced in February of 2023 that he was canceling all future tour dates due to various health issues.

“I am honestly humbled by the way you’ve all patiently held onto your tickets for all this time, but in all good conscience, I have now come to the realization that I’m not physically capable of doing my upcoming European/UK tour dates, as I know I couldn’t deal with the travel required,” Osbourne said at the time.

Despite being unable to walk due to Parkinson’s disease, Osbourne was determined to say goodbye to his fans with one more concert.

“I haven’t done any physical work for the last seven [or so] years,” Osbourne said back in May. “By hook or by crook, I’m gonna make it there. I’ve got this trainer guy who helps people get back to normal. It’s hard going, but he’s convinced that he can pull it off for me. I’m giving it everything I’ve got.”

When asked if he was stressed about his last show, Osbourne replied, “Sometimes, but what I do, if I start obsessing all the time, I’ll be insane by Friday, you know?”

“So I’m just taking it one day at a time and when I do it one day at a time,” he added.

Osbourne is a true living legend, and there will never be another one like him. We applaud Parton and her fellow icons for stepping up to give Osbourne the sendoff that he deserves.

God bless you, Ozzy Osbourne, and rock on!
