The Hollywood star Chris Pratt has broken his silence after the death of his longtime stuntman Tony McFarr.
Pratt Honors McFarr
TMZ reported that McFarr, who acted as Pratt’s stuntman in multiple Marvel movies, was found dead in his home outside Orlando, Florida on Monday. He was only 47 years-old.
Pratt has since taken to his Instagram Story to say that he has been left “devastated” by McFarr’s untimely passing.
“We did several movies together. We golfed, drank whiskey, smoked cigars, and spent endless hours on set,” said Pratt, 44, according to Entertainment Tonight. “I’ll never forget his toughness.”
Pratt went on to recall when McFarr was his stunt double while working on Guardians of the Galaxy 2. He remembered when McFarr “took a nasty shot to the head” and had to get “several staples in his head.”
Despite this, McFarr was quick to return to work after his surgery like “an absolute stud,” according to Pratt.
“He was always a gentleman and professional,” Pratt concluded. “He’ll be missed. My prayers go out to his friends and family, especially his daughter.”
Pratt also shared some images of himself and McFarr dressed in the same costumes on various film sets. They first worked together in 2015’s Jurassic World, and McFarr continued to be Pratt’s stunt double in Passengers, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

McFarr’s Career
McFarr was a seasoned stuntman who also worked on other major films like Bones, Homeland, Teen Wolf, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1, Captain America: Civil War, The Accountant and Allegiant.
Before he moved into stunt work, McFarr was a working actor who had roles in shows like Burn Notice, One Tree Hill, Army Wives, according to NBC News.
In recent years, McFarr had turned his attention to restaurant ownership. He’d opened various eating spots in Florida, including Reel Bowls, which is a poke and salad stop with a movie theme that is located near Orlando. McFarr’s final Instagram post was a celebration of Reel Bowls’ opening back in February.

McFarr’s Death
McFarr’s mother Donna confirmed his death, saying that her son was “active and healthy” and that his passing was “unexpected.” His cause of death has not yet been revealed, and the Orange County Medical Examiner’s office has confirmed that they are looking into his case.
“An exam has already taken place and cause/manner of death is pending toxicology results,” the office said.
McFarr is survived by his daughter, both his parents, and his sister. They say that they will be gathering to celebrate his life in the coming weeks, and that he will be buried next to his grandmother in Pennsylvania.
Pratt has long been known as one of the only devout Christians in Hollywood. He’s also known to be incredibly down-to-earth, so it comes as no surprise that he would take the time out of his busy life to honor his stuntman.
