After eight long years, the bitter divorce battle between two of Hollywood’s biggest stars is finally over.
Believe it or not, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finally signed off on their divorce paperwork on Monday. The former couple split in 2016. However, they had been in an ongoing legal battle over custody of their six children and their winery in France ever since.
Now, they’ve come to an agreement.
Jolie Is ‘Relieved’
Jolie’s divorce lawyer James Simon told Daily Mail that his client is “relieved this one part is over.”
“Frankly, Angelina is exhausted,” he said. “More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family.”
Pitt, 61, and Jolie, 49, are parents to Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16. Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne have all dropped Pitt from their last names in the years since the split.
It’s also been reported that Maddox and Pax have no contact with their father. In fact, it’s believed that Knox and Vivienne are the only two children who still speak to him, although they haven’t been photographed with him in recent years.
Pitt Finds Love Again
Sources close to Pitt claim that he was eager to settle his divorce so that he can marry his new love Ines de Ramon, 32. Pitt began dating the Los Angeles jewelry designer two years ago, and they’ve since moved in together.
“They are looking to get married in the next year and Brad has settled because he wants to keep his children on side for his new marriage to go ahead,” one insider said. “Apparently Ines is keen to have children too and pressured him to get it all sorted out as soon as possible.”
“Brad will be relieved that he can finally move on and marry again. He has wanted his divorce settled long before now but he believes Angelina has been dragging her feet,” the source continued. “Angelina will argue she has been fighting for the best deal for their family, but whatever the truth, it ultimately clears the path for him walking down the aisle with Ines.”
Pitt’s ‘Long Hard Road’ With His Children
Moving forward, Pitt would reportedly like to rebuild his relationship with children. That could be easier said than done, however.
“He will hope that he can build bridges with his children now that the divorce is finalized, but that looks like a long hard road,” the insider concluded.
Meanwhile, a source close to Jolie claimed that she has “been trying hard to be light after a dark time.”
“She doesn’t speak ill of him publicly or privately,” this insider claimed. “The kids have grown up seeing that some people have so much power and privilege that their voices don’t matter. Their pain doesn’t count.”
“They have wanted her to speak up for herself, to defend herself over these years but she reminds them to focus on changing laws over telling public stories,” the source added.

Pitt And Jolie’s History – Legal Battle Continues
Pitt and Jolie met on the set of the 2005 movie Mr And Mrs Smith. At the time, Pitt was still married to the former Friends star Jennifer Aniston. They soon split and he began dating Jolie. Pitt and Jolie went on to marry in 2014 in a ceremony at their vineyard Château Miraval in rural France. Their legal union only lasted 25 months before they broke up.
While their divorce is officially settled, Pitt and Jolie are still locked in a legal battle over Chateau Miraval, which is one of the France’s top wine producers. Pitt alleges that Jolie sold her $62 million stake of the winery to the Stoli Group without his approval. A source recently claimed that both Pitt and Jolie are willing to take the Miraval case to a jury trial.
It’s unfortunate that Pitt and Jolie will still be battling each other in court. That being said, it’s a relief that their lengthy divorce is finally settled. Here’s hoping that they can both move on with their lives, and that Pitt can mend fences with their children!
