Over the past few months, rumors have been swirling that Barack and Michelle Obama are heading for divorce. According to these rumors, Barack and Michelle have been living “separate lives” for quite some time.
Now, things have gotten even worse for the Obamas. Indeed, they’ve just learned that their private beach in the ritzy town of Martha’s Vineyard might soon be open to the public.
Obamas’ Martha’s Vineyard Nightmare
Boston real estate mogul Richard Friedman has spent years fighting his neighbors in Martha’s Vineyard for access to a two-mile stretch of barrier beach, Oyster Pond.
Friedman bought a 20-acre property back in 1983. At the time, he reportedly believed that this purchase gave him ownership over the barrier beach. His wealthy neighbors, however, were not having any of it. They claimed that they owned the beach, and a bitter legal battle ensued that has dragged on for decades.
Over the 42 years that this legal battle has gone on, the private beaches have moved north to rest between Oyster Pond and Jobs Neck Pond. Under Massachusetts law, these bodies of water are considered “public.” This means that no private entity should be able to lay claim to them.
Massachusetts Governor Maura Healy (D) is now fighting to open this stretch of beach to the public. This would add “a $3 billion environmental bond bill that would define a barrier beach which moves – whether by erosion or rising sea levels – on to public land as public property,” according to Daily Mail.
Healy’s bill states that a beach that moves into the “former bottom of the great pond shall be and remain in Commonwealth ownership in perpetuity.”
Barack and Michelle Obama have been escaping to Martha’s Vineyard to get away from the rest of the world for years. In 2020, they bought a 28-acre estate in the ritzy enclave for $11.75 million. Unfortunately for them, this massive estate includes a barrier beach that would become open to the public, should this bill pass.
The Obamas have yet to break their silence about this situation. However, we can only imagine just how livid they are that they are potentially about to lose their private beach to the public.
Obama Divorce Rumors
This comes at a difficult time for the Obamas, as they’ve been plagued by rampant divorce rumors for months.
The divorce rumors escalated in a big way back in January, when Michelle, 61, skipped both the funeral of Jimmy Carter and the inauguration of Donald Trump. She was the only living former First Lady to miss each of these events. This forced Barack, 63, to attend both events alone.
“I have been hearing this rumor that the Obamas are getting a divorce by reputable people,” political commentator Meghan McCain said on reporter Tara Palmeri’s podcast earlier this year. “I’m not talking about TMZ, I’m not talking about Perez Hilton, although I love him, he’s my friend.”
“I’m talking about like very serious journalists telling me that they’re hearing that the Obama divorce rumors are true,” she continued.
“We’ve heard that for a long time,” replied Tara, who has long covered Washington politics. “Like I just heard that they live separate lives.”

Michelle Accused Of ‘Really Disliking’ Barack
Back in March, Michelle launched her IMO podcast with her older brother Craig Robinson. Since then, Michelle has used it to bash Barack and air his dirty laundry seemingly every chance she gets.
In fact, Michelle has complained about Barack so many times on her podcast that the former Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently claimed that the former First Lady “really dislikes her husband, and it’s super obvious.”
“I’m not just saying that to be catty,” Tucker explained. “I think I’m trying to feel compassion for her but her hostility toward the guy is unbelievable.”
Tucker’s fellow Fox News host Megyn Kelly was quick to agree. She pointed out that “everything Michelle says about her husband is negative.”
“I almost never say negative things about Doug,” Megyn added, referring to her husband Doug Brunt. “He’s not perfect but when I think about him, I don’t immediately go to whatever is negative. I go to what’s positive and what I love about him.”

Barack And Michelle Respond To Divorce Rumors
Earlier this week, Barack and Michelle finally addressed these divorce rumors together for the first time when he appeared on her IMO podcast. There, the Obamas desperately tried to put these divorce rumors to rest.
“There hasn’t been one moment in our marriage where I thought about quitting my man,” Michelle claimed. “And we’ve had some really hard times. So we had a lot of fun times, a lot of adventures, and I have become a better person because of the man I’m married to.”
“These are the kinds of things that I just miss, right?” Barack chimed in to add. “So I don’t even know this stuff’s going on. And then somebody will mention it to me and I’m all like, ‘what are you talking about?'”
Unfortunately for the Obamas, however, many are still not buying their claim that their marriage is still going strong.
With these divorce rumors continuing to escalate, stress over their Martha’s Vineyard getaway is the last thing the Obamas need right now. Only time will tell if they will keep their private beach, and if their marriage will survive!
