The singer Britney Spears has been going through some tough times in recent years. Now, the former *NSYNC star Chris Kirkpatrick is speaking out to offer a message of support to her.
Kirkpatrick Voices Support For Spears
Kirkpatrick was friends with Spears 25 years ago, when they were each consistently at the top of the pop charts. Though he admits that they are no longer close friends, he wants her to know that he’ll always be there for her.
“I haven’t been close to her,” Kirkpatrick told Fox News. “If she ever needed to talk to anyone or anything, you know, I’m here.”
“I just hope that she’s OK and everything’s all right because for a while, it was like, ‘Hey, free Britney, get her out of this conservatorship,'” he added. “And she gets out of it. And then, you know, she posts some crazy stuff, but it is what it is. And it’s her life. And it’s not my business to get involved in it.”

Spears’ History With *NSYNC
Spears became a superstar in 1999 with the release of her debut single “… Baby One More Time.” *NSYNC had already been huge for two years by then, rising to fame with hits like “I Want You Back” and “(God Must Have Spent) A Little More Time on You.”
Spears had close ties to *NSYNC, as she started dating band member Justin Timberlake in 2000. Their relationship quickly became tabloid fodder, and by 2002 rumors were swirling that they were breaking up. Spears and Timberlake initially denied this, but they ended up confirming the rumors by the spring of that year.
Though Timberlake implied that Spears was behind the breakup, she claimed that it was a mutual decision that stemmed from their respective hectic work schedules.
“We’re climbing two different mountains,” she said at the time. “Of course, it’s going to kind of hurt sometimes, and you wonder things. But you learn from it and grow. I’m trying to get to that point.”
Spears’ Personal Issues
Later in 2002, *NSYNC broke up. While Spears continued to release more albums, her personal life soon started to eclipse her music career. Things finally came to a head in 2007, when she had a series of public outbursts that culminated in her shaving her head in front of the paparazzi.
Afterwards, Spears was placed under a conservatorship that put her father in charge of both her finances and her life in general. This conservatorship lasted until 2021, when Spears was freed from it after fans launched a successful campaign to end it.

Since then, Spears’ bizarre behavior has continued. No longer performing, Spears has instead taken to frequently posting videos to Instagram of herself dancing at home while wearing little clothing. Last month, police were called to the Hollywood hot spot Chateau Marmont, where Spears was receiving medical aid after an alleged fight with her boyfriend Paul Soliz.
As for Kirkpatrick, he’s living in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife and son. There, Kirkpatrick is hosting his own podcast and working on opening a bar with Jon Bon Jovi.
