The “heartbroken” country music legend Dolly Parton has reportedly stopped promoting her new album and dropped everything so that she could travel from her home in Tennessee to Los Angeles and play peacemaker with the family of Miley Cyrus amidst reports of multiple tragic feuds.
Dolly ‘Heartbroken’ Over Alleged Cyrus Family Feud
Daily Mail reported that Dolly, 78, is a longtime friend to Billy Ray Cyrus, 62, and is even godmother to his daughter Miley, 31. That’s why she’s particularly “heartbroken” that they’re allegedly feuding.
“Billy Ray and Miley are like family to Dolly. She can’t stand that they’re not talking. Dolly told Miley cutting out her father is a mistake,” an insider told Women’s Day.
Rumors of a feud between Billy Ray and Miley started in August of last year, when they unfollowed each other on Instagram after news broke of Billy Ray’s engagement to Australian musician Firerose. Miley and her siblings didn’t attend their father’s wedding when he married Firerose in October.
“Dolly has told Billy to apologize, which has caused a lot of tension between them,” said another insider. “Billy wants to sort things out himself and doesn’t necessarily want Dolly involved.”

Other Cyrus Family Members Allegedly Feuding
Billy Ray and Miley aren’t the only members of the Cyrus family who may be feuding. The family’s matriarch Tish, 56, has recently been accused of “stealing” husband Dominic Purcell, 54, from her estranged daughter Noah, 24. Tish, who suffered a “complete psychological breakdown” before divorcing Billy Ray in 2022 after 29 years of marriage, married the former “Prison Break” actor Dominic in August of 2023.
Though Miley attended the wedding, Noah was noticeably absent, and sources are claiming that this was because Tish didn’t invite her.
“Noah was [seeing] Dominic when Tish started pursuing him,” a source alleged to US Weekly last month, adding that Tish “was aware” of the situation.
“The turmoil between Noah and Tish goes far beyond [what people think],” this insider added. “Noah is very distraught over Tish stealing Dominic from her.”
Another source close to the Cyrus family, however, claimed that Noah and Dominic were never together and that it would have been “delusional [of Noah] to think otherwise.”
“Noah never dated Dominic and they were not together,” this insider alleged. “She is delusional to think otherwise and is trying to create a narrative that will paint her as a victim.”
“Noah has always craved the attention because she did not get it growing up. Tish was always so Miley-sided because that is where the money was,” the source continued. “Miley and Tish are like sisters and Noah has always been envious of this because she’s never had a connection with Tish like Miley has.”
Dolly And Miley’s Bond
Dolly has long been open about the strong bond that she has with Miley and the entire Cyrus family.
“I’ve known her since she was a baby,” Parton told “Good Morning America” back in 2009. “Her father’s a friend of mine, and when she was born, he said, ‘You just have to be her godmother,’ and I said, ‘I accept.’ We never did do a big ceremony, but I’m so proud of her, love her. and she’s just like one of my own.”
Miley has frequently expressed her love for Dolly as well.
“Watching the way she treats people with love and respect,” Miley told Cosmopolitan in 2017. “Always a reminder to me and my family of what is important. Never let success change your heart.”
“She’s who you want to be, not just the way that she is as an artist and as an entertainer because… she’s lasted,” she later added while appearing on “The Tonight Show” in 2020. “Her career has been so lasting and incredible, but she’s just the best living angel on earth.”
