Report: Tupac Shakur Murder Case Suspect Bail Set At $750K Ahead Of Trial

It’s been nearly three decades since rap icon Tupac Shakur was murdered on the streets of Las Vegas.

Now bail has been set for a key suspect in the case.

Bail Set at $750,000

The Messenger reports, “It sounds like Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis will have to pay up in order to be allowed some additional freedom before his murder trial.

“On Tuesday, a Nevada judge set bail at $750,000 for the former Los Angeles-area gang leader who was recently charged with orchestrating the killing of hip-hop legend Tupac Shakur in 1996,” it noted.

According to the Associated Press, court-appointed attorneys for Davis — who previously asked for a bail of no more than $100,000 — believe their client can post that amount. If so, the judge will allow Davis to serve house arrest with electronic monitoring ahead of his trial.

During Tuesday’s hearing, prosecutors reportedly argued that Davis has never left gang life and that a jailhouse phone call in October suggested he poses a threat to witnesses.

Davis’ attorneys, however, said that prosecutors had a wrong interpretation of the jail telephone call and a list of names provided to Davis’ family. The defense lawyers said it is Davis and his family who are at risk.

He Died Way Too Young

Shakur was killed in a drive-by shooting on September 13, 1996.

He was only 25-years-old.

So much talent lost from this world at such a young age.

It’s amazing it has taken this long to find a suspect, but here we are.
