Earlier this week, we reported that Martha Stewart had made history as the oldest person to ever pose on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit at 81 years of age. Now, Stewart is opening up about how this cover has impacted her love life.

Stewart Discusses Love Life

“I’ve gotten a few inquiries. Just a couple,” Stewart told Entertainment Tonight, though she declined to name any names.

While Stewart made a point of saying that romance isn’t a priority for her these days, she also made sure to add that she is “still working really hard.”

“You have to make time for certain things. My garden is very important,” she said before talking about how much she loves being a grandmother. “It’s the best. I have two amazing grandchildren.”

One thing that Stewart is surprisingly open to is an on-screen romance with the right man.

“Maybe I’ll do a movie or one of the great series’ that’s on now,” she said, going on to say that she’ll “find the right leading man” to star in it with her.

Stewart was previously married to Andrew Stewart from 1961 until they divorced in 1990, and she has never married again.

Stewart ‘Kind Of Surprised’ By Success Of Cover

Stewart is enjoying the success of her swimsuit cover, even though she was “kind of surprised” to score it.

“I was just surprised because I’ve done so many other things I didn’t expect to be topping with this,” she said.

“I think the world has embraced the fact that you can be whoever you are whenever you want to be it,” she continued. “That’s really what I think is helping. I think it’s helping people. You put on a bathing suit and you feel good about it. [People are] trying a little harder to keep your good health, your good looks, your good skin, your good hair.”

This comes after Stewart addressed “naysayers” who accused her of getting plastic surgery and overly retouching her photos.

“There are only a few naysayers saying, ‘The pictures are over-retouched.’ But they’re not,” Stewart, 81, claimed to Variety. “They are incredibly accurate pictures. I was really pleased that there was not much airbrushing.”

“I’ve had absolutely no plastic surgery whatsoever,” she continued. “I have very healthy, good hair. I drink green juice every day. I take my vitamins. I eat very healthfully. I have very good skin doctors. I’m very careful in the sun. I wear hats and I wear sunblock every single day.”

Despite this, Stewart immediately then admitted, “Every now and then there are certain fillers that I can do for a little line here or there, but I hate Botox. It’s a weird thing for me. I really and truly don’t do a lot.”

Stewart’s Prep For Photoshoot

Daily Mail reported that Stewart wore nine different swimsuits for her Sports Illustrated photoshoot, which was done with photographer Ruven Afanador in the Punta Cana area of the Dominican Republic. She spent the months leading up to the shoot preparing by doing pilates, avoiding alcohol, and watching what she ate.

“I had my regular facials but maybe more frequently and I also got a spray tan,” she explained. “I’m not a hairy person, but I got a complete body wax.”

God bless Stewart for continuing to show the world that age really is just a number. After seeing her Sports Illustrated photos, we can’t help but think that she can get any man she wants!
