Earlier this week, we reported that Kevin Costner’s wife of 18 years Christine Baumgartner had filed for divorce from him. Since then, rumors have swirled that their divorce stemmed from Costner getting an unnamed woman pregnant on the set of his show “Yellowstone.”

Now, Costner is speaking out to shoot down these rumors.

Costner Hits Back At Rumors

Sources close to Costner, 68, told TMZ that these rumors are “total BS,” and a representative for Costner then told Daily Mail that the claims are “absolutely not true.”

This came after rumors spread on social media that Costner had impregnated an unidentified woman on the set of “Yellowstone.”

“I wonder now, if the drama surrounding Kevin Costner and ‘Yellowstone’ ‘scheduling,’ was due to the rumor of him potentially getting someone on set pregnant? Was he trying to avoid or is there more to it? Or just a rumor?” one social media user wrote, with another adding, “So it wasn’t Bentley who got a girl pregnant on the ‘Yellowstone’ set.. it was Costner.”

Costner’s Wife Files For Divorce

Baumgartner, 49, cited “irreconcilable differences” when she filed for divorce from Costner on Monday.

“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action,” Costner’s rep said afterwards in a statement. “We ask that his, Christine’s and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”

Sources close to Costner have said he was “stunned” by his wife filing for divorce earlier this week.

“Kevin was very surprised by Christine’s actions, he obviously doesn’t want the divorce and he would take her back,” one insider told Page Six. “It’s disappointing, he loves her and he loves his children.”

Costner and Baumgartner, 49, are parents to Cayden, 15, Hayes, 14, and daughter Grace, 12. The source went on to shoot down rumors that Costner had cheated on Baumgartner.

“There was no issue of cheating at all,” the insider added.

Costner and Baumgartner began dating in 2000, and they married in 2004 on a ranch in Aspen, Colorado. He was previously married to Cindy Silva from 1978 to 1994 and they share three children: Annie, 39, Lily, 36, and Joe, 35. Costner’s marriage to Silva ended amidst accusations that he’d cheated on her with a hula dancer while filming his movie Waterworld.

Costner is also father to son Liam Costner with Bridget Rooney, who he dated after divorcing Silva.

‘Yellowstone’ Ending

Since the divorce filing was made, it’s been announced that “Yellowstone” will be coming to an end.

“‘Yellowstone’ has been the cornerstone on which we have launched an entire universe of global hits — from ‘1883’ to ‘Tulsa King,’ and I am confident our sequel will be another big hit, thanks to the brilliant creative mind of Taylor Sheridan [the show’s creator] and our incredible casts who bring these shows to life,” said Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios.

Deadline previously reported that Matthew McConaughey is in talks to star in a sequel series to “Yellowstone.” A Paramount spokesman said that “McConaughey is a phenomenal talent with whom we’d love to partner.”

The sequel series will air on Paramount Network and then stream exclusively on Paramount+.

Costner is clearly going through a very difficult time right now both personally and professionally. Please join us in saying a prayer for him as he tries to get through this.
