Chris Pratt Praises Father-In-Law Arnold Schwarzenegger – ‘Means The World To Me’

The Hollywood star Chris Pratt is opening up about his bond with his father-in-law Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Pratt Opens Up About Schwarzenegger

While attending a private screening of his new Marvel movie Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, which hits theaters today, Pratt told People Magazine that the support Schwarzenegger has for both him and his career is “mind-blowing.”

“Arnold’s support means the world to me on a couple different levels. Just being his son-in-law and being part of his family, it obviously means a lot to have his support,” said Pratt, who has been married to Schwarzenegger’s daughter Katherine since 2018.

“But then on another level, just being somebody who grew up loving his movies, the big action hero — I dreamed of being Commando and dreamed of being the soldier from Predator and I loved Terminator,” Pratt continued. “So him to give me kudos for going out and being on the marquee is really kind of mind-blowing.”

Schwarzenegger Gushes Over Pratt

This comes days after Schwarzenegger gushed about Pratt over his new movie.

“I saw #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 last night and WOW. @prattprattpratt, you crushed it,” he tweeted. “A non-stop, perfect mix of comedy and action. I loved it and I’m very, very proud of you.”

Fox News reported that this comes three years after Schwarzenegger described Pratt as “a great guy” who is “kind to my daughter.”

“I was blown away when my daughter was telling me that she was going out with him,” Schwarzenegger said of Pratt, according to People Magazine. “[I was like], ‘Do you have to be so competitive? I mean, do you have to have a guy that is taller than me, that is bigger than me, that is doing bigger movies than me … makes more money than me? What is going on here?’ “

“I’m really happy that he is such a great guy,” he continued. “Not only a very talented guy and a great actor and a great star and all this stuff, but a really kind man and kind to my daughter, which is the most important thing for me.”

Schwarzenegger went on to say that he is “very proud” of Pratt, who asked his permission to marry his daughter “in a very traditional way.”

Pratt’s Bond With Schwarzenegger

Entertainment Tonight reported that Pratt opened up about his bond with Schwarzenegger in an interview with the late night host Seth Meyers a few weeks ago.

“I’ve gotten obviously to know him now as just a regular guy and all of that,” said Pratt, 43. “He’s a great grandfather, a great dad, and a good father-in-law and he’s got a wealth of experience, oddly, in the world of promoting blockbuster action movies. It’s like, who else are you gonna talk to about that kinda stuff? So that’s pretty cool.”

Pratt and his wife are parents to two daughters: Lyla, 2, and Eloise, who will turn 1 on May 21. Pratt is also father to a 10 year-old son named Jack, who he shares with his ex-wife Anna Faris. Last month, Pratt revealed to the late night host Jimmy Fallon that Schwarzenegger taught him how to smoke a cigar after the birth of one of his children despite Pratt having asthma.

“There’s nothing manlier than Arnold Schwarzenegger smoking a cigar, and when you’re part of bringing his granddaughter into the world, he comes and he brings you a cigar, and he’s like, ‘Let’s go out and smoke these,’” he said, going on to joke that he woke up the next morning with a “massive lung infection.”

“There’s peer pressure and then there’s Arnold Schwarzenegger,” he added with a laugh.

Schwarzenegger and Pratt are two of the biggest action movie stars ever, so it’s fun to know that they are both in the same family and get along so well. It sure would be fun to be a fly on the wall at their family gatherings!
