Arnold Schwarzenegger ‘Very, Very Proud’ Of Son-In-Law Chris Pratt

The Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger is speaking out to say that he is “very, very proud” of his son-in-law Chris Pratt, who’s been married to his daughter Katherine for nearly four years, for the way he performed in the new movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

“I saw #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 last night and WOW. @prattprattpratt, you crushed it,” tweeted Schwarzenegger, 75. “A non-stop, perfect mix of comedy and action. I loved it and I’m very, very proud of you.”

Fox News reported that this comes three years after Schwarzenegger described Pratt as “a great guy” who is “kind to my daughter.”

“I was blown away when my daughter was telling me that she was going out with him,” Schwarzenegger said of Pratt, according to People Magazine. “[I was like], ‘Do you have to be so competitive? I mean, do you have to have a guy that is taller than me, that is bigger than me, that is doing bigger movies than me … makes more money than me? What is going on here?’ “

“I’m really happy that he is such a great guy,” he said continued. “Not only a very talented guy and a great actor and a great star and all this stuff, but a really kind man and kind to my daughter, which is the most important thing for me.”

Schwarzenegger went on to say that he is “very proud” of Pratt, who asked his permission to marry his daughter “in a very traditional way.”

Pratt Praises Schwarzenegger

Entertainment Tonight reported that Pratt opened up about his bond with Schwarzenegger in an interview with the late night host Seth Meyers a few weeks ago.

“I’ve gotten obviously to know him now as just a regular guy and all of that,” said Pratt, 43. “He’s a great grandfather, a great dad, and a good father-in-law and he’s got a wealth of experience, oddly, in the world of promoting blockbuster action movies. It’s like, who else are you gonna talk to about that kinda stuff? So that’s pretty cool.”

Last month, Pratt revealed to the late night host Jimmy Fallon that Schwarzenegger taught him how to smoke a cigar after the birth of one of his children despite Pratt having asthma.

“There’s nothing manlier than Arnold Schwarzenegger smoking a cigar, and when you’re part of bringing his granddaughter into the world, he comes and he brings you a cigar, and he’s like, ‘Let’s go out and smoke these,’” he said, going on to joke that he woke up the next morning with a “massive lung infection.”

“There’s peer pressure and then there’s Arnold Schwarzenegger,” he added with a laugh.

Pratt and his wife are parents to two daughters: Lyla, 2, and Eloise, who will turn 1 May 21. Pratt is also father to a 10 year-old son named Jack, who he shares with his ex-wife Anna Faris.

Schwarzenegger Quotes His Own Movies

In a 2021 interview, Pratt revealed that Schwarzenegger often quotes famous lines from his own movies.

“He does it all the time, too,” Pratt said. “He’ll say lines from his movies and stuff. He’ll walk out and be like, ‘I’ll be back.’”

It’s nice to see that Schwarzenegger and Pratt seem to share such a strong bond. They’ve long been two of the most down-to-earth stars in Hollywood, so it comes as no surprise that they would get along so well!
