Whoopi Goldberg Turns On ABC – Calls Out Her Own Network On ‘The View’

Whoopi Goldberg shocked everyone on “The View” on Tuesday morning when she called out her own network of ABC.

Fox News reported that the former “The View” co-host Paula Faris was appearing on the show to argue that ABC needs to start paying more attention to mothers, including those who want flexible hours and hybrid locations. 

“You hear that, ABC? We’re here. We can say this to you,” Goldberg said as the segment came to an end. “You got to pay more attention to the mothers. All the mothers.” 

The audience cheered as Goldberg’s fellow co-hosts agreed with her.

Faris was on the show promoting her new book “You Don’t Have to Carry it All: Ditch the Mom Guilt and Find a Better Way Forward.”

We Must ‘Value Motherhood’

“You write in the book about how companies who don’t try to support working mothers are going to face retention and hiring issues. Is that breaking through though, do you think, with companies?” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin asked her. 

“I’m not really sure, but the people have spoke, and this isn’t just families, mothers, and fathers who are the most productive and loyal employees,” Faris replied. “Everyone wants flextime. 95% of employees regardless of whether or not you’re a parent, they want flex hours. They want hybrid location.” 

Faris went on to say that we “have to value motherhood.”

“We need to celebrate motherhood instead of scrutinizing it and penalizing it,” she said. “We need to do a better job for families and mothers in the workplace, it’s not just the right thing to do, it’s good for everyone. It’s good for our bottom line. And moms are like the most efficient, loyal, productive employees but, allow us to have flex time.”

Faris was a co-host on “The View” from 2015 until she left the show in 2018 to pursue other projects. Check out her full segment on “The View” in the video below.

Calls For Goldberg To Be Fired

Whether you think Goldberg was in the right or not, it can’t be denied that calling out ABC may have been a bad move for her, as calls have been growing in recent months for her to be fired in the wake of her saying multiple times that the Holocaust was not about race. The only people keeping Goldberg employed at the moment are the very ABC executives that she was quick to call out during this segment.

At the time of this writing, a Change.org petition has garnered over 46,000 signatures from people demanding that ABC cut ties with Goldberg. 

“Whoopi has made numerous remarks about race that have ruffled feathers,” the petition states. “But her most recent comment attacking victims of the holocaust and the entire Jewish community are disgusting. Apologies are not enough when it comes to things like this, This can and will not be forgotten.”

“We as Americans demand that she be fired from the daytime tv show ‘The View’ for her repulsive verbiage and actions,” it continues. 

ABC has stood by Goldberg up to this point, but now the she’s openly bashing the network, perhaps executives will think twice about keeping her around. It certainly would be fitting if Goldberg’s big mouth is what ultimately does her in for good at ABC!
