Tim Allen Mocks Will Smith’s Slap As He Attends Oscars Party
Tim Allen attended an Oscars party last night, and he took the opportunity to mock Will Smith's infamous slap of Chris Rock.
The Hollywood star Tim Allen attended an Oscars party last night with his beloved wife Jane, who he’s been married to for seventeen years. To mark the occasion, Allen took social media to joke about Will Smith infamously slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars in 2022.

This came one year after Smith stormed the stage at the Oscars to slap Rock after the comedian made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, who is bald, looking like the character G.I. Jane. This didn’t sit well with Smith, as his wife lost her hair because she suffers from the disease alopecia, and he let his rage be known by shockingly slapping Rock in the face.
Smith has since been banned from all Academy Awards events for the next ten years because of the slap. Immediately after the slap happened in March of last year, Allen took to Twitter to condemn it.
“It’s not ok to come up on stage and hit a dude cause you don’t like the humor,” Allen tweeted at the time, according to Detroit News. “It’s not ok at a Comedy Club, concert hall or hosting some cheeseball award show.”
Allen then described Rock as “a stand up comedian and a standup guy who carried on. I think I would have run.”

Jimmy Kimmel Jokes About Slap
During last night’s Oscars, host Jimmy Kimmel referenced the slap a few times throughout the show.
“We know this is a special night for you. We want you to have fun. We want you to feel safe. And most importantly, we want me to feel safe,” Kimmel said as he opened the program, according to People Magazine. “So we have strict policies in place. If anyone in this theater commits an act of violence at any point during the show, you will be awarded the Oscar for Best Actor and permitted to give a 19-minute-long speech.”
“Seriously, The Academy has a crisis team in place. If anything unpredictable or violent happens during the ceremony. Just do what you did last year: nothing,” he added. “Sit there and do absolutely nothing. Maybe even give the assailant a hug.”
Kimmel went on to say that for those who “get mad at a joke and decide you want to get jiggy with it, it’s not going to be easy” this go round.

While introducing presenters for Best Documentary Feature, Kimmel deadpanned, “Hopefully it goes off this time without a hitch, or at least without Hitch. Please put your hands together and then keep them to yourself.”
Hitch is a movie that Smith starred in back in 2005. Once the show hit the two hour mark, Kimmel took the stage once again to say with a laugh, “At this point in the show, it kind of makes you miss the slapping a little bit, right?”
We’re glad to see that the elites of Hollywood managed to get through the Oscars last night without anyone being assaulted onstage, and we hope that Allen and his wife had a great time at their viewing party!
