Fans of the Toy Story franchise were ecstatic on Wednesday when Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that a fifth movie is in the works. Hours later, Tim Allen took to social media to reveal if he’ll be returning to voice the iconic character of Buzz Lightyear for Toy Story 5.

Allen Talks Toy Story 5

This comes at a difficult time for Allen, as he was recently accused of flashing his penis at Pamela Anderson decades ago on the set of their sitcom “Home Improvement.” Thankfully, this scandal does not seem to have destroyed his relationship with Disney, as he’s revealed that he will be reprising his role as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 5!

“See ya soon Woody, you are a sad strange little man and you have my pity,” Allen tweeted alongside a photo of Buzz Lightyear. “And off we go to a number 5! To infinity and beyond!”

Disney Confirms Toy Story 5

This comes hours after Iger announced that Disney is currently working on a few different sequels.

“Today I’m so pleased to announce that we have sequels in the works from our animation studios to some of our most popular franchises, Toy Story, Frozen and Zootopia,” Iger said, according to Deadline.

“We’ll have more to share about these productions soon, but this is a great example of how we’re leaning into our unrivaled brands and franchises,” he added.

Toy Story 4 came out in 2020 and won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. The first four films in the franchise were massive hits, making $3.03 billion at the global box office. Allen has voiced Buzz Lightyear in each Toy Story movie, the first of which came out back in 1995.

Anderson Accuses Allen Of Flashing Her

This also comes after Anderson used her new memoir “Love, Pamela” to accuse Allen of flashing his penis at her back in 1991 on her first day of filming “Home Improvement.”

“On the first day of filming, I walked out of my dressing room, and Tim was in the hallway in his robe,” she wrote.

“He opened his robe and flashed me quickly — completely naked underneath,” Anderson continued. “He said it was only fair because he had seen me naked. Now we’re even. I laughed uncomfortably.”

This appears to have been a reference to Anderson posing nude for Playboy Magazine two years prior in 1989. Allen has denied Anderson’s allegations ever since they came out, saying that they “never happened” and that he “would never do such a thing.”

Allen ‘Disappointed’ In Anderson

“She was a great co-worker, I’ll tell you that,” Allen told Daily Mail of Anderson. “She’s a fun girl. Everybody loved her, but everybody at ABC is a little disappointed in her… memory, put it that way. All of us at Disney/ABC, really.”

“She’s a good girl,” he added, going on to say that he has a very good memory.

Anderson, who has no proof to back up her claims, has admitted that Allen “has to deny” them in order to save his career.

“He has to deny it because look at the times we’re in,” Anderson told ET Canada. “If he said, ‘Oh yeah, I did that…’ he’d be—a lot of these stories are just the tip of the iceberg.”

Given how rampant cancel culture is, particularly against conservatives like Allen, it was unclear if his career would ever be able to recover from Anderson’s accusations. We’re glad to see that Disney is standing by Allen enough to continue working with him, and we can’t wait to see him play Buzz Lightyear again in Toy Story 5!
