The country music legend Dolly Parton was forced to deny shocking rumors that she was selling CBD gummies, which would go against her wholesome brand, given the fact that they contain marijuana.

Parton Denies Rumors

“Dolly Parton is not affiliated with, has not endorsed, and is not associated with any keto or CBD gummy product. She’s more the cake, cookie, and cornbread type,” read a post from “Team Dolly” that was shared to the 77 year-old “Jolene” singer’s social media pages.

Fox8 reported that though it is unclear where these rumors stemmed from, they had to be pretty rampant if Parton and her management team felt the need to publicly deny them. Fans have been quick to voice their support for Parton in response to her post:

Parton Selling Baking Products

Though Parton isn’t selling CBD products, she just announced some new additions to her Duncan Hines Collection that include two baking mixes (a coconut cake mix and a banana cake mix) and two frostings (buttercream and chocolate buttercream).

Parton recently raised some eyebrows with her Sweet Cornbread mix, as there’s quite a debate in the South about whether sugar belongs in cornbread.

“Putting sugar in cornbread is so Southern,” Parton told Southern Living last month. “Most people do. A lot of us that grew up in my neck of the woods just didn’t have the sugar, so it was a really special treat.”

“I grew up not having the sweet cornbread as much as the plain,” she continued. “That was only because we couldn’t afford the sugar. But it’s Southern either way.”

Parton went on to make it clear that she loves cornbread with or without sugar.

“I like both, because when I eat the sweet cornbread, I think of it almost like a dessert,” she explained. “To me, it’s like something you can have that’s just a treat, like you would a muffin. But if I’m going to eat it with something else, I might not put sugar in it.”

Another treat that Parton has loved since her childhood growing up in rural Tennessee is apple butter.

“I always loved apple butter. That was always one of those things we had at our house because we canned apple butter,” Parton explained. “Mama was always great at that. And the jams and jellies, we always canned the blackberries and the stuff Mama used to make.”

Parton’s Future Plans

This comes months after Parton shocked her fans by revealing that she may never tour again.

“I do not think I will ever tour again, but I do know I’ll do special shows here and there, now and then,” she told Pollstar back in October.

“Maybe do a long weekend of shows, or just a few shows at a festival,” she added. “But I have no intention of going on a full-blown tour anymore.”

Parton may be done with touring, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t staying as busy as ever. On top of the baking products that she’s selling, she’s also working on a rock album that is due out later this year.

While you shouldn’t expect to see Parton entering the world of CBD anytime soon, you can expect to be seeing a whole lot more of her in 2023!
