In the six days it’s been since Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis Presley, died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 54, many tributes have been pouring in for her. Few have been more touching, however, than the one that has just been put forth by the legendary country music star Dolly Parton.

Dolly Honors Lisa Marie

“Priscilla, I know how sad you must be. May God comfort you at this time,” Dolly wrote in a statement posted to social media. “Elvis, I know how happy you must be to finally have her home and have her back with you. Lisa Marie, may you rest in peace. We all love all of you.”

Dolly, who is set to celebrate her 77th birthday on Thursday, further opened up about this yesterday in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. 

“That was a sad, sad loss, and when I had made my statement that I just wanted to send my sympathies to Priscilla ’cause I can only imagine, but I knew he’d be waiting for her,” Dolly explained, referring to her statement and to Lisa Marie’s 77 year-old mother Priscilla Presley, who survives her. 

“I thought, ‘Well, Elvis is there waiting for her,’ and we just all love that family and just wish them the best, but that was a sad, sad loss,” she continued, going on to say that she hopes Lisa Marie and Elvis are “up there being happy together.”

“Hopefully they are up there being happy together, and hopefully Priscilla will find some peace through the love that we all have for her,” Dolly concluded.

Dolly ‘Heartbroken’ For Priscilla

Dolly also went on “The View” to say that she is “heartbroken” for Priscilla, who she described as a friend that she has “known for a long time.”

“[I] just think about the sorrow and the grief that a mother would have losing a child. And then of course knowing Elvis would be so happy to have her with him again,” she said. “And just all of us just being there for that family we all feel like we’re part of.”

“I was heartbroken for Priscilla as well as the world being so shocked and horrified by the early death of some special, wonderful girl,” Dolly concluded. “So it just feels like a family. I was just talking about how we all love that family as if it’s our own. It’s a tragic thing.”

Priscilla On Lisa Marie’s Death

Daily Mail reported that Lisa Marie died last Thursday at the age of 54 after suffering two cardiac arrests. It was Priscilla who made the sad announcement to the world that Lisa Marie had passed away. 

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla told People Magazine. “She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known.”

“We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss,” she continued. “Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”

Memorial Service For Lisa Marie At Graceland

A public memorial service is set to take place for Lisa Marie on Sunday morning at her family’s iconic Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee.

Lisa Marie will be buried on the grounds of Graceland alongside various family members, including her father and her late son Benjamin Keough, who committed suicide in 2020 at the age of 27.

While it’s devastating that Lisa Marie has passed away so young, Dolly said it best when she pointed out that she is now in Heaven with her father. Please join us in praying for Lisa Marie’s loved ones as they continue to mourn her.
