The world is in shock over the death of Lisa Marie Presley, who died on Thursday of a heart attack at the age of 54. Now, tragic new details about Presley’s death have come to light.

New Details About Presley’s Death

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to People Magazine that paramedics rushed to a home in the 5900 block of Normandy drive in Calabasas, California on Thursday morning to treat Presley after she was found unresponsive by a housekeeper.

This house actually belonged to Presley’s ex-husband Danny Keough, who performed CPR on her until paramedics arrived, according to TMZ. Presley had reportedly been staying at this home in the lead-up to her death.

After performing CPR on Presley, paramedics noted that she had “signs of life,” and quickly transferred her to her local hospital for “immediate medical care.” Paramedics were able to regain Presley’s pulse twice, once in the home and once in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Sadly, doctors were not able to save her life, and she died at the hospital once she got there.

Priscilla Presley Breaks Her Silence

Presley was the only child of the legendary Elvis Presley, who died of a heart attack in 1977 at the age of 42. She is survived by her 77 year-old mother Priscilla, who is heartbroken over her only child’s death.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla said in a statement hours after Presley’s passing.

“She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known,” she continued. “We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”

A rep for Priscilla added, “Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”

Presley’s Life

Presley was married and divorced four times throughout her life, and she was the mother of three daughters, including the Hollywood star Riley Keough. She was also the mother to son Benjamin Keough, who sadly killed himself back in 2020 at the age of 27. In her final years, Presley was open about how difficult it was for her to deal with his suicide.

“It’s a real choice to keep going, one that I have to make every single day and one that is constantly challenging to say the least … But I keep going for my girls,” she wrote in a grief essay last year.

“I keep going because my son made it very clear in his final moments that taking care of his little sisters and looking out for them were on the forefront of his concerns and his mind. He absolutely adored them and they him,” she added.

While it’s devastating that Presley was taken from us at such a young age, we can all find comfort in the fact that she is with Elvis and her son now. Please join us in saying a prayer for her family during this difficult time.
