Dave Chappelle Sends Brutal Message To Haters Trying To Cancel Him

Radical liberals have been out to “cancel” the comedian Dave Chappelle for years now because they have labeled him as “transphobic” for jokes he’s made in his standup act. He’s firing back this week in a big way, saying that the “woke” crowd that is out to get him is trying to remove the “nuance” from speech in American culture.

Chappelle Recalls Protesters Getting His Show Cancelled

During Tuesday’s episode of his podcast “The Midnight Miracle,” Chappelle talked about a show of his being cancelled at the First Avenue club in Minneapolis back in July just “hours” before he was set to take the stage because of the backlash that was coming in from leftists.

“I guess apparently they had made a pledge to the public at large that they would make their club a safe space for all people, and that they would ban anything they deemed transphobic,” Chappelle explained, according to Fox News. “This is a wild stance for an artistic venue to take, especially one that’s historically a punk rock venue.”

Chappelle reacted to this venue cancelling his show by moving it to the Varsity Theater, but when he got there, he was met by a large group of furious protesters. 

“These were grown people of various genders and gender identities,” he recalled. “They threw eggs. They threw eggs at the people who were lined up to see the show.”

“One lady was so mad with the protesters, she picked up a police barricade,” the comedian continued. “You ever seen one? They look like a bike rack. This b—- picked that barricade up by herself and threw it at the crowd. I gotta tell you, it’s an amazing feat of strength for a woman.”

Chappelle’s Fans Never Got Violent

Chappelle went on to say that while the protesters were violent, his fans remained peaceful as they made their way into the theater to watch him perform.

“When I walked on stage, it was a huge ovation because suddenly going to see a comedy show was this huge act of defiance,” Chappelle stated. “I don’t think anyone had any malicious intent. In fact, one of the things that these people, the trans and their surrogates, always say is that my jokes are somehow gonna be the root cause of some impending violence that they feel like is inevitable for my jokes.”

“But I gotta tell you, as abrasive as they were, the way they were protesting, throwing eggs at people, throwing barricades, cussing and screaming, nobody beat ‘em up,” he continued. “In fact, the people in the crowd would just say, ‘We love you. Like what are you talking about?'”

Chappelle’s Message To Cancel Culture

The main thing that Chappelle finds disturbing about the cancel culture movement is that those who are offended by something are trying to police the speech of others. 

“I’m not even mad that they take issue with my work,” he said. “Good, fine. Who cares? What I take issue with is the idea that because they don’t like it, I’m not allowed to say it.”

“Art is a nuanced endeavor,” Chappelle explained. “I have a belief that they are trying to take the nuance out of speech in American culture, that they’re making people speak as if they’re either on the right or the left.”

“Everything seems absolute, and any opinion I respect is way more nuanced than these binary choices they keep putting in front of us,” he concluded. “I don’t see the world in red or blue. It’s just people I agree with on some things and not other things. It’s just what it is.”

Chappelle is one of the few comedians out there who is not afraid to tell it like it is, which makes him terrifying to the radical left that wants everyone to fall in line with their beliefs. We applaud Chappelle for continuing to fight the good fight against cancel culture, much to the dismay of liberals everywhere!
