The Hollywood star Valerie Bertinelli of “One Day At A Time” fame took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday to share some terrifying images from her home security camera that show two men who she believes tried to rob her.
Bertinelli Shares Terrifying Footage
Daily Mail reported that the footage shows two men lingering on Bertinelli’s property at 1:14am on Wednesday. They were wearing what appeared to be work uniforms, and they were carrying multiple bags and a backpack.
“We’ve had a string of robberies in my neighborhood, my next-door neighbor included,” Bertinelli, 62, wrote in the caption. “This is one of the men that came to scope out my house.”
Bertinelli went on to say that she believes it was only a camera lighting up that stopped the man.
“I think he stops because he sees my camera lit up,” she said, adding that “the other one came an hour before him. F***ing scary.”
Bertinelli To Increase Her Security
Bertinelli later posted another image that appeared to be a separate man who was wearing a hat and a backpack. The former “Hot In Cleveland” star said that “the police came around pretty quickly and checked around the houses.”
Bertinelli concluded by saying that she is planning to increase her security precautions to make sure her house and property are better protected.
“I’m installing more motion detector lights and thinking of putting barbed wire on my front fence,” she said. “And of course my alarm gets set every night.”
Bertinelli owns various properties, and though it’s unclear which one the footage came from, OK! Magazine reported that she primarily resides in a five-bedroom mansion in Malibu, California. Crime has long been on the rise in the liberal-run state, so it sadly would come as no surprise for this kind of thing to happen there.

Bertinelli’s Difficult Year
This comes after a difficult year for Bertinelli, as she went through a bitter divorce battle with her ex-husband Tom Vitale. Though the divorce was finally finalized last month, Bertinelli has been open about the toll it took on her.
“I am gonna be more than happy to be happily divorced and spend the rest of my life alone,” she told TODAY back in June. “I’ll be happy that way. Well, with my six cats and my dog and my son, and hopefully one day grandchildren.”
“Oh God, no,” Bertinelli added when asked if she’s open to looking for love again. “Because of the challenges that I’m going through right now, because divorce sucks. I can’t imagine ever trusting anyone again to let into my life. So I have some trust issues that I’m sure I’m going to have to get past. Divorce sucks.
After the divorce was finalized last month, Bertinelli took to social media to celebrate while she was at the airport on her way to go see her son.
“My lawyer just called. The papers are all signed. They’re about to be filed,” she said. “On 11/22/22, I am officially f—— divorced. Happily divorced. God. Finally. It’s finally over. YES!”
After a tremendously tough year, being robbed is the last thing that Bertinelli needs to have happen to her. We can only pray that the men in the footage that she shared are apprehended, and that the additional security measures she takes to protect her home are effective.
