The controversial co-host of “The View” Joy Behar has been married to her husband Steve Janowitz since 2011, but they had been dating for 29 years prior to their marriage. In a newly-surfaced clip from “The View,” Behar revealed the truly shocking way that she met her husband in the early 1980s.
The Sun reported that during a segment in which the co-hosts discussed a new dating app, they soon began telling their own dating stories. That’s when Behar shocked everyone by revealing how she and Janowitz met.
“I don’t know if you know this about me, but I met my husband at a semi-nudist colony. It’s true,” Behar said.
Meghan McCain, who was the conservative co-host on “The View” at the time, jumped in to corroborate this by saying, “Yeah, she did, and they hooked up immediately.”
Behar, 80, went on to claim that she was not naked “because for a man to see [her] naked, [she has] to be in his will.”
“He was all the way on the other side of this place — and it was like an adult place,” she continued. “He was far away naked. And then at night, there was a movie playing, and then I saw him fully dressed.”
“But I remembered him from the daytime. It’s true,” she added. “People wonder about that. I tell that story, and people are like, ‘Joy, really? That twitching, crazy woman on The View?’ Yeah.”
Behar was previously married to her ex-husband Joseph Behar from 1965 until they divorced in 1981. The former couple share a daughter named Eve, who is now an artist. Behar met Janowitz the year after her divorce, and they have been together ever since.
“I waited until all the parents were dead,” Behar once said of why she waited so long to marry Janowitz, according to Closer Weekly. “So I have no in-laws at all. He has none and I have none. ‘Cause marriage is mostly about in-laws, I find. They always want you to visit them and come for lasagna.”
Nudity is something that appears to be a staple of her relationship with Janowitz.
“We’re really romantic,” she told HuffPost in 2011. “We like to sit on the floor naked, eating cannoli and watching ‘Hoarders.’”

Though Behar turned 80 back in October, she made it clear that she has “no plans to retire,” much to the dismay of the many Americans that find her radically liberal political views to be as annoying as ever.
“I just signed a contract so I’ll be here for a while,” Behar told People Magazine around the time of her birthday. “I have no plans to retire.”
“It’s really, you know, something that is an important show in many ways,” she went on to say of the ABC talk show. “Sometimes I don’t believe that, as I’ve been here since the beginning, but we’re the most-watched show in daytime. Most-watched! I’m happy to be a part of it. So no, I’m not going anywhere. I’m having a good time.”
Janowitz must be a very unique person if he can put up with Behar for forty years, because most of us can’t even deal with her for 60 minutes on “The View” each morning.
