Over the past few weeks, the Christian conservative Hollywood star Candace Cameron Bure has found herself being targeted by cancel culture for saying that her new network Great American Family “will keep traditional marriage at the core.”

She has now taken yet another hit as the actress Lacey Chabert has responded to the controversy by defending the Hallmark Channel, which Cameron Bure left earlier this year.

Chabert Defends Hallmark

Cameron Bure made her “traditional marriage” comments after disparaging Hallmark, but Chabert is standing by the network.

“Any shift I’ve felt has been embracing our creative ideas,” Chabert told Vulture. “And it’s my responsibility to the audience who continue to tune into my movies that I give the best I have to offer. That’s always my mission.”

“I’ll never abandon what Hallmark means for me, which is that everything is centered around the heart,” she continued. “I don’t think there are any plans for that to change anytime soon.”

Chabert declined to comment on Cameron Bure’s decision to leave Hallmark for Great American Family.

“You know what, I wish everybody the best,” she said. “I really can’t comment on it further other than I care about everybody involved. I’m with Hallmark, and I work for them. I’m so sorry, but I’ll just have to leave it at that.”

Cameron Bure Leaves Hallmark

Daily Mail reported that this comes one month after Cameron Bure revealed that she left Hallmark partly because of the stories that the network was telling.

“My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them,” she explained. “I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment.”

“Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core,” she later added.

Cameron Bure was met with tons of backlash for this, with the former “One Tree Hill” star Hilarie Burton going so far as to label her a “bigot.”

“I don’t remember Jesus liking hypocrites like Candy,” Burton said. “But sure. Make your money, honey. You ride that prejudice wave all the way to the bank.”

Despite the hate that she received for her comments, Cameron Bure refused to back down.

“All of you who know me, know beyond question that I have great love and affection for all people,” she told Fox News. “It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I intentionally would want to offend and hurt anyone.”

Cameron Bure’s Devotion To God

In another recent interview, Cameron Bure explained that she makes all decisions in her life through prayer and faith.

“Prayer is my immediate connection to God. That’s how I talk to Him and communicate with Him,” she told CBN News. “Of course, I read my Bible, and I spend time with Him, but prayer is my main form of communication. I love God more and more when I get to know him through prayer.”

Cameron Bure has long been known as one of the few openly Christian conservative actresses in Hollywood, so the left has been out to get her for quite some time. It’s sad that Chabert is quick to defend the Hallmark Channel, but has no words of defense for Cameron Bure when she needs it most.
