The comedian Kathy Griffin, who infamously once posed in a photo with the simulated severed head of Donald Trump, has been suspended from Twitter after the billionaire Elon Musk took over the social media platform.

Griffin Suspended From Twitter

Daily Mail reported that Musk revealed on Sunday that any account that impersonates someone else on Twitter will be permanently suspended. This came after some celebrities, including Griffin, tweeted as “Elon Musk” in response to him deciding to charge $8 a month for verified accounts.

“Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended,” Musk said, adding that “any name change at all” will lead to someone temporarily losing their verified checkmark.

“Actually, she was suspended for impersonating a comedian,” Musk said of Griffin’s suspension. “But if she really wants her account back, she can have it…for $8.”

Unsurprisingly, it didn’t take long for liberals to lose their mind over Griffin’s suspension.

Griffin Sinks To New Low

The Guardian reported that before her suspension, Griffin tweeted under Musk’s name, “After much spirited discussion with the females in my life. I’ve decided that voting blue for their choice is only right (They’re also sexy females, btw.) #VoteBlueToProtectWomen.”

After her suspension, Griffin sunk to a new low when she used the Twitter account of her late mother Maggie Griffin, who died in 2020 at the age of 99, to continue tweeting.

“Apologize in advance for all the comments you’re gonna have to read about how ugly I am and they’re probably gonna throw you in there too,” Griffin tweeted from the account. “Oh by the way this is KG. I’m tweeting from my dead mother’s account. She would not mind.”

Fox News contributor Joe Concha fired back at Griffin for this by tweeting, “Imagine getting to a place in life where one is so desperate for attention, they log on to *their dead mother’s account* to protest a ban from a social media platform.”

Valerie Bertinelli Tweets Under Musk’s Name

The Hollywood star Valerie Bertinelli also tweeted under Musk’s name, but she managed to switch back to her true name before she could be suspended.

“Okey-dokey. I’ve had fun and I think I made my point,” she said after switching her name back.

Bertinelli also discussed the original reason the blue verification system was put in place by Twitter.

“It simply meant your identity was verified. Scammers would have a harder time impersonating you,” Bertinelli said. “That no longer applies. Good luck out there!”

Griffin’s History

During the presidency of Donald Trump, Griffin made headlines for all the wrong reasons when she posed for a photoshoot in which she held up his simulated severed head. Given the fact that Twitter was run by radical leftists at the time, Griffin unsurprisingly faced no consequences for this on the social media platform, and was allowed to continue spewing her leftwing-themed hate for the duration of his time in office.

Many will undoubtedly feel that Griffin’s suspension from Twitter was a long time coming, as she’s long shown that she’s a hateful leftwing celebrity who has no tolerance for anyone whose political opinions differ from her own. Here’s hoping that Musk makes her Twitter suspension permanent, and that we never have to deal with her on the social media platform again!
