season finale go-home show

This week, it’s another RAW In A Nutshell…but, season finale go-home show, anyone?

As in, well, if next week is the RAW season premiere, that must mean this week is the season finale, right?

Plus, since Extreme Rules is this weekend, not only is this the season finale, but it’s also the go-home show.

At least, it’s the go-home show as far as the red brand is concerned.

And, we know already of a few things to expect.

Candice LaRae is going up against Dakota Kai, for one.

Her husband, Johnny Wrestling, takes on Otis. Otis’ partner gets a shot at Braun Strowman.

Plus, we know we can expect final hype for the Extreme Rules card. Like…what’s going to happen when Bianca and Bayley engage in the oh-so-cliche contract signing?

So, it may be the season finale go-home show, but lets get into it, shall we? It’s time for…

RAW In A Nutshell: Season Finale Go-Home Show, Anyone?

Let’s crack open this Nutshell and see what happens!

Best Match of the night:

Not a match, but I am going to say the long term story telling involving the RAW Women’s Division.

I mean that both in terms of tonight, and what’s to come.

The women were all over the show this week. But, it seems likely that the women involved in our main event on this week’s show are top choices for War Games.

Match-wise? How about the unexpected, but so good, Mustafa Ali and Bobby Lashley.

Worst match of the night:

Johnny Gargano losing to Otis.

Like, sure, outside interference and all…but there’s a time when that should be a DQ.

Star of the Night

Going to say that Bianca and Bayley did quite well.

Honorable mention to Riddle, Rollins and Daniel Cormier.

Jobber of the Night:

Felt kinda like Alexa Bliss was jobbed out in the main event, didn’t it?

But also feels like a way to bring back demonic Bliss, once The Fiend returns.

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

And, the QR coordinates this week…point to Saturday’s arena for Extreme Rules.

Either we are seeing like, doctoral level trolling, or we are absolutely getting Bray Wyatt back.

Kinda was hoping The Fiend mostly stayed away…but they are a thing.

Also…Lumis strikes again, and Gargano enjoyed seeing it…I think.

Botch of the night:

LOL Moment of the night:

OK, either it was intentional trolling, or it was just Graves busting on Saxton as per usual.

But…tell me the line about Byron’s mom buying his stuff…wasn’t a little shot at the AEW tiff?

Also…Sami is being Sami…

Noteworthy Moment:

Well…Montez is injured…

Also…between the white rabbit QR code and other Easter eggs…it seems abundantly clear Wyatt is inbound.

The QR code linked to Samson and Delilah, which was one of Bray’s final Tweets as an active Superstar.

Then there was the Fiend appearing behind Alexa backstage…if you slowed things down.

Or, if not that…Graves had the QR code on the contract folder, and over his shoulder, in the crowd? Someone in a Fiend mask who, I don’t recall seeing there just a few minutes earlier.

Either they were and it was just fortuitous. Or that was superbly well planned.

Overall lowlights:

Tainted as the endings were…still kinda was a bummer seeing both Candace and Johnny lose, back to back.

Overall highlights:

Not from this week…but next week looks like it’s going to be loaded.

Season premiere, silly as that sounds, leads to a loaded show.

Theory versus Gargano. The Bloodline on the show in full force.

A D-X reunion, even if not all of them.

Bobby Lashley defending the United States Championship against Seth Rollins.

And, probably Bray Wyatt…and who or what else? I mean…Legado is looming…could we have other NXT call-ups?

In plain words…it’s a good time to be a fan.

Now, as for how this show went? Bayley and Bianca killed it. And, no shock, but the ongoing white rabbit teasers have continued to deliver.

After the final bell:

It was a good go home show, better than many this year.

But, as much as we are excited for Extreme Rules…suddenly, the RAW “season premiere” feels like absolute must-see TV.

Think about it. Roman Reigns and the entire Bloodline, on the same show as D-X, among others.

Could we see some big surprises in Brooklyn? Nothing would shock me.

I mean, Styles has been having issues with Judgement Day…does he finally join? Or do the Good Brothers save the day?

Does WWE use Brooklyn to start hyping Rock-Reigns at ‘Mania? I mean, The Rock does have a new big movie to pitch, so…there’s something, maybe?

I’ve thought of plenty of perhaps “obvious” stuff…but I’d bet on one or two we just do not see coming.

I do think, the way Damage Control has been dominating things…it feels like WWE is setting the stage for someone to come back and save the day…but who…
