Johnny Gargano says his secret return to WWE had an important message. Also, a former UFC double-champion was approached for an NXT spot.

Johnny Gargano On His Secret Return

NXT has undergone two major forms. First, there was the yellow and black brand and then NXT 2.0.

The original version featured a number of talented wrestlers, with Triple H running the show. Then, Vince McMahon completely changed the brand.

With Vince out, Triple H has given Shawn Michaels more power with the brand.

When thinking of the original NXT, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa were the key players. They teamed and feuded together to deliver spectacular performances.

At the end of last year, Gargano’s contract expired and he did not renew. Instead, he focused on his family and new baby.

Less than a year later and he returned, but now as a member of the main roster. While speaking on the WWE After the Bell podcast, Gargano noted why he did not debut in Ohio.

“That was the most important thing to me for this secret, for this return, was to make it a complete surprise,” said  Gargano. “Obviously, I could have come back two weeks prior in Cleveland, but everyone believed that.”

“Everyone thought that was going to happen. That’s probably why it didn’t happen.”

“It would have been great. I would love to come back to my hometown.”

“I still haven’t wrestled in that arena, which is mind blowing to me as it’s a different universe. It was really important for me to just keep this whole thing under wraps as much as possible.”

Fans were certainly surprised to see Gargano return on the RAW brand. He looks be entering in a feud with his former NXT stablemate, Austin Theory.

Daniel Cormier is in the UFC Hall of Fame and is busy as a broadcaster. Still, that does not stop WWE.

During Twitter Spaces with Monster Energy, Cormier noted he stays in contact with people at WWE. He mentioned Triple H and one of the Creed Brothers.

“I actually talk to them quite a bit,” said Cormier. “I’m friends with a lot of people that are in that company.”

“I speak to Triple H. I’ve got some friends that are competing.”

“My brothers, not my actual brother, one of my friends, Jacob Kasper [Julius Creed], he’s part of The Creed Brothers.”

At one point, there was an offer made for Cormier to appear with The Creed Brothers in NXT.

“I’ve been asked a couple of times to do stuff with them for the promotion, but I haven’t been able to make it work. It’s something I want to do.”

With Triple H gaining more power, maybe he makes a deal. Although, Cormier might need to get an okay from the UFC if he wants to appear on TV or get physical.
