The Young Bucks – AEW Contract Length, CM Punk Has Surgery

After some questions, we are learning more about the AEW contract length for The Young Bucks. Also, CM Punk has undergone successful surgery.

The Young Bucks – AEW Contract Length

When putting AEW together, there were a bunch of names discussed. In particular, people were looking to see where former members of the Bullet Club would land.

Kenny Omega, “Hangman” Adam Page and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) joined from the start. Then, Omega and The Young Bucks became EVPS as well.

On the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer briefly discussed their contracts. He wanted to step away from reports they sent out feelers to WWE.

“They’re under contract till the end of 2023,” said Meltzer. “After that point, everyone should send out feelers at the end of their deal and see what the offers are.”

So, the brothers have over a year left with AEW. And, Tony Khan has been serious about WWE talking to AEW talent while still under contract.

That is kind of hypocritical considering Khan was certainly talking to Jeff Hardy before his expiration date.

Since joining AEW, The Young Bucks have delivered some amazing matches and won gold too. They were tag champions and also were trios champions.

The two are talented, but you have to wonder if they fit WWE’s style. They are all about hitting several crazy spots in each match, only for their opponents to somehow kick out.

Currently, The Young Bucks are suspended after what happened after All Out with CM Punk. There is no word on a return date or if they be will released.

Now, we move onto CM Punk and what occurred during the media scrum at All Out. It should have been a great night, but it ended on a sour note.

Punk buried Kenny Omega, “Hangman” Adam Page and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson). Also, Tony Khan was sitting next to Punk when this all went down.

Not much later, Punk was in his locker room when The Young Bucks entered with Omega. Yelling led to physicality and all were suspended.

Several other names were suspended while the matter is being invested by an independent third party. Some are calling for Punk to be fired.

Just like Punk’s first world title reign, this one was even shorter. Both times, injuries would pop-up.

Even before his suspension, reports started to surface how Punk had a tricep injury. Earlier in the week, he underwent surgery.

“CM Punk underwent surgery earlier this week for the torn left triceps he suffered when doing the tope early in the Jon Moxley match,” said Meltzer. “That is usually about an eight month recovery period.”

“His doctor recommended surgery right away to prevent any muscle atrophy.”

Considering what unfolded at the media scrum, there is a decent chance Punk is gone. Although, the timing of the injury might help.

Typically, the return timetable is about eight months. Therefore, Punk is out of action until at least late spring or early summer.

That is a long time in wresting and cooler heads could prevail by then.
