It’s another SmackDown In A Nutshell, and Friday is set to be fight night for the Brawling Brutes.
Honestly, any night is fight night for the brutes, but there is a reason for this here and now.
Friday is fight night because the Brawling Brutes earned the next shot at The Usos.
And, that shot comes Friday, in the main event for the evening.
If a tag title match isn’t enough for you, then here are some more fun bits to look forward to.
For one, there’s been a bunch of buzzing about a Bray Wyatt return. Fans have speculated he is the teased white rabbit.
And, bread crumbs in those teasers have many eyeing 9/23 (today) at 9:23PM. Could it be?
Now, we don’t have to speculate about this other bit. That is, Extreme Rules is rapidly approaching.
Which means…we need some more matches.
So without any more chatter, it is time for…
Let’s crack open this Nutshell and see what happens!
Otis and Braun Strowman was better than I expected.
But not it.
Nope, for this I will stick with the main event. Not a huge fan of the tainted ending, but it does protect all involved, if needed.
New Day and Maximum Male Models.
The highlight of this one was Max Dupri storming off…perhaps realizing he needs to ditch that gimmick and bring back LA Knight.
Tough call for me tonight…but I have to go with the Bloodline.
Lots of drama teased. Even teased kicking Sami out.
But, they stay united and victorious.
Easily the stereo super kick on an upside down Butch.
Or…
Liv Morgan putting Lacey Evans through a table.
Take your pick.
Mace and Mansoor.
Nothing to report.
Well, if they can’t get into a match, let’s do a backstage segment with Hit Row hosting a watch party, right?
Complete with a QR code for more teasing, and an attack on Hit Row by Los Lotharios.
Fine, it is not our best holy sh!@ moment.
How about then, we saw a fireball and are getting a strap match at Extreme Rules?
Now, sometimes WWE goofs by showing us the stills and slow motion replay.
Tonight was one.
Scarlett missed high with the fireball. Now, considering what it is, that may have been on purpose.
But showing the still of it clearly shows how much she missed by.
I just think doing that is a bad move…
Had to laugh with who all was at the Hit Row “party”.
Like, Drew Gulak and Shinsuke Nakamura.
So, for like the whole week fans were eyeing September 23rd at 9:23PM.
Hopes were high for a Wyatt teaser, or perhaps even a full on return.
Instead we got…a commercial.
But, it seems that WWE did, at that time, continue the in-arena teaser campaign.
I’d go with…lots of teasing, but no big delivery.
Sami Zayn…teased to be out….but no. He got himself a new shirt.
Bray Wyatt? Also no.
And…still no tank for Shotzi.
Also, I liked the main event, but man oh man that was a lot going on at the end of it.
Wonder who is next for The Usos…if it means we might see a hot free agent tag team come in and challenge.
Among other things…
The Bloodline is going to do what they are going to do. And, it’s just that good.
Drew and Karrion Kross, with a strap match at Extreme Rules, could be…shall I say…Killer.
I liked the show, as I have most shows in recent weeks.
The change in leadership has been a breath of fresh air.
However, this was just a good show, not an all time great one.
That said, Sheamus confirmed we are getting the silly “season premiere” of SmackDown in two weeks.
On it, we will get Sheamus-Gunther II. I am going to say that one should be great, and who knows what else we will get.
But, having a season premiere for a show that is live all year round? Silly.
