Joy Behar Gives An Ominous Warning To Her Former ‘The View’ Co-Host Sherri Shepherd

Joy Behar has issued a warning to her former “The View” co-host Sherri Shepherd ahead of the debut of her new talk show that can only be described as eerie.

Behar’s Advice To Shepherd

The Sun reported that Shepherd’s new self-titled talk show “Sherri” is set to premiere on September 12, six days after the latest season of “The View” debuts on September 6.

Shepherd served as a co-host of “The View” from 2007 until 2014, and she was recently given her very own talk show after filling in as host of “The Wendy Williams Show,” which recently came to an end.

Shepherd and Behar recently reunited when Shepherd appeared on “The View” a few months ago to talk about her new gig.

She has since revealed that during this appearance, Behar had some choice words of advice for her.

“Joy Behar said to me, ‘The moment you open up your mouth, half the world is going to hate you,'” Shepherd said.

“The View” moderator Whoopi Goldberg had some advice for Shepherd as well, telling her, “It’s never about you, it’s always for someone else. So, take it off of you and know that you’re taking people on a journey.”

Shepherd Taking Their Advice

After receiving this advice, Shepherd assured viewers that her talk show will be much more “friendly” than that of her predecessor Williams, who was known for having more of a tell-it-like-it-is attitude.

“Let’s be clear, I’m not a mean person at all!” she told Daily Mail. “I’m all about positive energy. I’m about joy. I’m about kindness and laughter. Anyone that knows me will tell you just that.”

Shepherd went on to say that unlike Williams, she doesn’t plan to take jabs at other celebrities.

“As a celebrity myself, I know what it’s like to not feel safe appearing on a show or hoping a host doesn’t try to have a gotcha-moment with you,” she said.

Shepherd also said that she doesn’t feel pressure to live up to Williams, whose show was on for 14 seasons.

“I only feel pressure to go out there and be authentically Sherri,” she said. “I put pressure on myself to make sure I’m bringing my best self each time I step onto that set. Making sure I can offer people one hour of joy, laughter and inspiration is the only thing I’m worried about. It will be a celebrity-friendly zone on Sherri.”

Behar Staying On ‘The View’ At Nearly 80

Meanwhile, though she is set to turn 80 next month, Behar has no plans to leave “The View” anytime soon.

“Money,” Behar recently replied when asked what’s keeping her on the show. “And also geography. I live right close by.”

“Listen, I’ve been here for 25 years — and I’ve had a self-imposed hiatus for two, I just want to point that out — but I was here for most of the time, so [the new co-hosts] know what to expect from me,” she added, according to Entertainment Tonight.

“I’m me, I’m Joy. People know me, they expect the same thing they’re getting again and again and again.”

Behar’s advice to Shepherd isn’t too surprising, given the fact that she offends millions of people everyday with her oftentimes ignorant liberal views.

For the sake of Shepherd and her viewers, we can only hope that she does a better job hosting a show than Behar ever has.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
