Harvey Weinstein Shamelessly Begs Judge For Help After His 23-Year Prison Sentence Takes Surprising Turn
Once one of the most powerful people in Hollywood, Harvey Weinstein is now begging a judge for help from prison.
Disgraced former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, who is currently serving a 23 year prison sentence for rape, is begging a judge to stop his prison dentist from pulling his rotten teeth.
Thinking about that time I changed my handle to "Barack Obama is a Harvey Weinstein Democrat" and thus was immediately blocked by the entirety of liberal Blue Check Twitter 😂 pic.twitter.com/2zGftXXZrH

Weinstein Begs For Help
“This situation is an emergency,” Weinstein, 70, told the judge after being wheeled into a Los Angeles courtroom on Wednesday. “I will pay for the dentist … it will be one trip and one trip only.”
The New York Post reported that Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lisa Lench responded by saying that Weinstein had visited the medical bay at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, where he’s awaiting the start of his October 10 trial for additional sexual assault charges, on two separate occasions, but the issues had not been resolved.
Mark Werksman, the attorney representing Weinstein, claimed that jail dentists had offered his client to either leave his teeth to decay or pull them out without replacement. The disgraced producer argued that he deserves to be allowed fake teeth so that he can look “presentable” at the trial.
“I’m in pain every day,” Weinstein claimed. “I have cavities and I can’t eat because I’m missing teeth.”

Werksman argued that his client’s constitutional rights would be violated if dental care is denied, adding that Weinstein — who is missing three front teeth that have resulted in an unflattering gaping hole — looks “ridiculous” and “like a caricature.”

Judge Fires Back
Judge Lench fired back by saying that while Weinstein can pay to transport himself to and from a private dentist, this would still involve manpower from the local sheriff’s department. Though she also disagreed Weinstein looked ridiculous with the gap in his teeth, asking Werksman to send her a written request for the dental work so that she could review it.
The hearing in which this argument was made had been scheduled so that prosecutors could ask for two witnesses who live in Italy to not be physically present at the trial and testify by video instead. Judge Lench ended up ordering that witness Lubov Smirnova — who worked for one of Weinstein’s accusers and her family — will need to testify in person. However, she will allow Pascal Vicedomini, who is the second witness, to appear by video for medical reasons.
Judge Lench has already denied Weinstein’s request to postpone his trial over the November 18 release of the movie She Said, which details how the claims exposing the producer as a sexual predator were made. Weinstein argued that this movie would prejudice the jury against him, but the judge wasn’t having any of it.

Weinstein was known for being one of the most powerful men in Hollywood before dozens of women came forward to accuse him of sexual assault in the early days of the #MeToo movement back in 2017. In March of 2020, he was sentenced to 23 years in prison after he was found guilty of forcibly performing oral sex on former Project Runway production assistant Miriam “Mimi” Haleyi in 2006. On top of that, he was convicted of sexually assaulting hairstylist Jessica Mann in 2013.
This comes one month after New York’s highest court agreed to hear Weinstein’s appeal of his conviction, as the disgraced Hollywood producer claims to have received an unfair trial. Taking his age and declining health into account, it is unlikely that Weinstein will ever be a free man again, unless this appeal is successful.
