Gable Steveson Not Progressing, Morrissey’s Future, AEW Fined

WWE are unhappy Gable Steveson is not progressing. Also, is W. Morrissey now part of AEW; which also got fined for what happened this week.

Gable Steveson Not Progressing

Earlier in the year, Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson was the hottest free agent. Pro Wrestling, MMA, Hollywood and more wanted him.

In the end, WWE did enough to have him sign a contract. They promoted him across TV for weeks and even drafted him to RAW, despite not wrestling yet.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter mentioned how things have dramatically changed. They noted how WWE was not impressed with his progress and compared Steveson to his brother.

“Everything is cold on Gable Steveson,” the report stated. “His brother is doing great and they wanted to debut him some time ago.”

“But, it hasn’t happened because reviews on his training progress haven’t been good. They were going to fast track him after he finished his last season in March, but he hasn’t even been around or talked about.”

WWE made a huge investment with Steveson. It has happened before and sometimes it takes time to get the hang of things.

Morrissey’s Future

On this week’s past episode of Dynamite, there was a shocking return in W. Morrissey. Most remember him as Big Cass in WWE.

He destroyed all four members of Wingmen. Then, Stokley Hathaway gave his card to Morrissey, who seemed interested.

Fightful Select reports Morrissey will be at Dynamite next week from New York. He is from Queens, so he might be around until at least AEW Grand Slam at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

He did work once for AEW, trying to help MJF topple Wardlow. Morrissey was under contract with Impact Wrestling until recently.

He is best known for his time in WWE. Due to substance abuse problems and not listening, he was released.

We are not sure if Morrissey has signed with AEW, but it would be a good investment.

Let us begin with Dynamite. Jon Moxley left an open contract in the ring after squashing CM Punk the week prior.

Quickly, Punk’s friend and AEW worker Ace Steel grabbed the contract. Later, Punk cut a promo about letting everyone and himself down.

Steel headed to the ring and cut a fierce promo on Punk. Unfortunately, he dropped the f— bomb.

That was not part of the plan and Steel apologized as Warner Brothers Discovery told AEW to tone-down the language.

PW Insider noted how Steel went backstage and immediately apologized for the error. He agreed to pay a fine that will be donated to charity.

No word on how much the the fine was.

As for Punk, the promo from Steel worked and he signed the contract. Then, Punk cut a a huge promo as we prepare for the rematch this weekend at All Out.
