Canadian Beauty Queen Killed In Horrific Skydiving Accident At 21 After Automatic Parachute Fails To Open

A 21 year-old Canadian beauty queen who was also known as a social media influencer on TikTok was killed in a horrific skydiving accident last week.

Beauty Queen And Social Media Influencer Killed In Skydiving Accident

Daily Mail reported that Tanya Pardazi was killed in Toronto after jumping out of a Skydive Toronto plane, plummeting to the ground from around 4,000 feet in the air. Skydive Toronto had initially claimed that Pardazi released her parachute at a “low altitude without the time” to inflate, but the company’s website states that in the course she was taking, the parachute was set to open automatically.

Pardazi had already completed one course with Skydive Toronto in Innisfil, Ontario, making her eligible to take the course known as “Solo First Jump Course” on her own.

“Increase the challenge by doing your first skydive solo!” reads the description of this course. It adds that this course “runs every Saturday throughout the season, starting at 9 am.”

The company went on to declare that the course will see students “taught all of the fundamentals required to successfully complete your first skydive.”

“You will learn about your equipment, how to exit the airplane, freefall body position (arch), canopy control, and emergency protocol,” the description read, saying that learners, “weather permitting,” would be ready for their first dive “that afternoon.”

As for the fall itself, the description states that customers would jump out of the plane “attached to a static line.” This line then “automatically deploys your main parachute,” but Pardazi’s never deployed, and she instead fell to her death.

Pardazi’s History

A philosophy student at the University of Toronto prior to her passing, Pardazi had made the semi-finals of the 2017 Miss Teen Canada pageant when she was only 16 years-old. Her friend Melody Ozgoli, who had known her for ten years, told CTV News Toronto that this was the social media influencer’s first time skydiving alone.

“Tanya had an interest in anything that was new and adventurous,” Ozgoli recounted. “Life was too boring for her and she was always trying to do something adventurous. She really lived every second to the fullest.”

“I talked to her recently,” she continued. “I couldn’t believe it. I thought it was a joke. It has been a couple of days and I still can’t believe it.”

Pardazi had over 100,000 followers on TikTok, where she posted videos of her talking about random topics that ranged from aliens to history to animal science. She posted her final video on August 22, and it was about a Tetris puzzle that she had completed after taking an Adderall. Check out that video for yourself below.

Tributes For Pardazi Pour In

Fans of the influencer have taken to social media to pay tribute to Pardazi in the days since her passing.

“Rest in Peace my friend,” one fan reportedly wrote. “I’m sorry you were taken from us so soon. I hope afterlife is all that you imagined and more, until we meet again.”

“I literally cannot believe she’s gone,” another added. “I’ve never met her but she’s a huge inspiration for me.”

Pardazi’s friend Kimia Sepanlou remembered her for being a “brave” young woman who was popular among her peers.

“Everyone who met her thought the world of her,” Sepanlou recalled. “Whenever we saw her, we knew we were in for an adventure because she didn’t like letting herself, or the people closest to her, get bored.”

Police are reportedly still investigating Pardazi’s death. Please join us in saying a prayer for Pardazi’s family and friends during this difficult time.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
