Angelina Jolie Hits Brad Pitt With Damning Accusation As Their Bitter Divorce Continues

Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been engaged in an extremely bitter divorce battle since 2016, and it just escalated in a big way with a new accusation being thrown around.

Jolie Hits Pitt with Major Accusation

Jolie has accused the actor of “waging a vindictive war against” her as she filed a countersuit against Pitt over the wine business they previously co-owned together.

“These counterclaims lay bare the true nature of Pitt’s egregious misconduct. To be clear, it is Pitt, and not Jolie, Nouvel or any of the other Defendants, who has acted in a hostile, destructive, and illegal manner. Pitt’s behavior has caused serious harm to Nouvel,” detailed legal documents obtained by People Magazine.

Jolie’s lawyers went on to claim that Pitt “masterminded a so-far-successful plan to seize control of” Château Miraval, the South of France vineyard and home the couple bought a controlling stake in back in 2008. The attorneys are alleging that Pitt has since “frozen Nouvel out of Château Miraval and treats it as his personal fiefdom” and has “wasted its assets, spending millions on vanity projects, including more than $1 million on swimming pool renovations and other funds restoring a recording studio.”

The legal filing then alleges that Jolie spent months negotiating with Pitt’s team to sell him the half of the winery that he owns, but the actor “made an eleventh-hour demand for onerous and irrelevant conditions, including a provision designed to prohibit Jolie from publicly speaking about the events that had led to the breakdown of their marriage.”

The legal document claims that Jolie sold her half of the winery refusing to Stoli Group subsidiary Tenute del Mondo, after refusing to agree to the “hush clause” in October of 2021.

Pitt Fires Back

A source close to Pitt fired back by saying, “This is just the latest in a series of deliberate efforts to misdirect, recycle and reposition the truth of what has happened over the last six years, thinking that reasonable people would be duped by these obvious misrepresentations.”

“It’s hard to understand how leaving an inheritance of 40 percent of something is better than 100 percent of something, and it’s equally inexplicable how continuing to revisit the same points over and over again is in any way beneficial to this family,” the insider added.

This comes after Pitt himself filed a lawsuit against Jolie back in June accusing her of causing damage to the reputation of the business by selling her half to a “stranger,” alleging that the actress intentionally sold her interests as she allegedly “sought to inflict harm on” him. His lawyers claimed that Miraval had become his “passion” project that grew “into a multimillion-dollar global business and one of the world’s most highly regarded producers of rosé wine” through his work.

“Jolie pursued and then consummated the purported sale in secret, purposely keeping Pitt in the dark, and knowingly violating Pitt’s contractual rights,” the actor’s legal filing read at the time. 

Pitt is seeking damages “in an amount to be proven at trial” in addition to the sale Jolie supposedly made to be declared “null and void.” Jolie, however, isn’t backing down.

Jolie Doubles Down

“Pitt is gaslighting, claiming that he is the victim in order to cover up the harm he intentionally caused to his ex-wife (excluding her from the business and holding the most significant part of her net worth hostage) and the business (asset stripping and foolish spending),” her new filing reads. “But Pitt should look in the mirror because it is he, and not the Stoli Group, who carries baggage, some of it recent front page news, that is detrimental to Château Miraval’s business.”

“Jolie was already becoming increasingly uncomfortable participating in an alcohol business,” the documents add. “In addition, given the events that led to her filing for divorce, neither she nor any of the children felt able to return to the chateau.”

The actress’s filing also alleges that Pitt “developed an addiction to alcohol, which resulted in increasingly destructive behavior towards Jolie and the rest of their family.”

Jolie and Pitt share six children together, and they have been engaged in a bitter custody battle over them ever since she initially filed for divorce back in 2016. It’s sad to see that this divorce is clearly only getting messier as time goes on and, for the sake of their children, we can only hope that Jolie and Pitt are able to put this all to rest at some point in the near future.
