There are some new details on Bayley’s stable and how they were formed. Also, Theory fires back at critics of his WWE push.
WWE SummerSlam started in a way where you knew Vince McMahon was not running the show. After Bianca Belair defeated Becky Lynch, three familiar names appeared.
Bayley returned and then was joined by Io Shirai and Dakota Kai. Now, PWInsider are proving more details.
Shirai now goes by Iyo Sky, but WWE did not trademark that name until the day after SummerSlam. Even a graphic on the screen had her NXT name.
Bayley was in the plans to be at SummerSlam. Although, nothing was official until Vince stepped-down.
Kai’s deal return to WWE was done last minute. She did not fly into Nashville until the night before and kept a low profile.
The stable has no name, but ‘Control’ is being discussed. They looked ready to feud with Belair and Lynch, but “The Man” could be out for months with an injury.
Austin Theory was somebody Vince McMahon saw as the future of the WWE. That was clear as Theory and Vince worked together for months.
Although, that could all change because of what is going on right now. WWE has dramatically changed since Vince retired.
The retirement was not planned. Instead, Vince finds himself caught in the middle of a several hush money scandals.
Theory has a bright future and others, like Paul Heyman, have said the same. When it comes to being pushed at a young age, there is always pushback.
On The Ringer Wrestling Show, Theory addressed the critics.
“I think a lot of those people, the people that do know the story and the people that don’t – when you think about it, any time somebody is really young, it seems like ‘oh they’ve been given this,’”said Theory. “But think about, I started working out at 12 because at eight years old I saw WWE.”
“My mom was sneaking me in the gym. I had to be 13 to go to the gym, but I was sneaking in at 12 because I saw a video of John Morrison training abs and Triple H.”
“It was a WWE workout video. I just wanted to start preparing myself for that because that’s all I wanted to do.”
“So, I played sports before I figured out what WWE was, and if you think about that, I quit playing sports at around eight.” I just worked out and was like, ‘I don’t want to get injured, I don’t want to rely on a team.’”
“That’s just my mindset. For me, that was my mentality. I’m gonna do whatever it takes to get here as fast as I can.”
“Once they gave me that debut, I was like, ‘This is mine.’ It’s a long story, but I think why people say that is because the age is young.”
With Vince out of the picture, this will be a true test for Theory. If he survives, then perhaps we have our next John Cena or Roman Reigns.
