Just a few weeks after Mike Tyson caused fans to worry about him by claiming that his “expiration date” is “coming really soon,” the 56-year-old former heavyweight boxer was spotted in a wheelchair at the Miami International Airport.

Tyson Seen In Wheelchair

Daily Mail reported that Tyson is suffering from a “sciatica flare-up,” which is a condition related to the lower back that is said to be an “old issue” for him. Last month, he was photographed using a cane, but it appears his condition has deteriorated to the point where he needs more help than that.

Tyson has previously said that he quit boxing because of his back pain and that a serious flare-up in 2020 left him in tears and confined to his bed for two weeks. However, an insider close to Tyson tried to downplay his situation, saying, “It’s just an occupational hazard for an athlete like Mike.”

Despite this, Tyson himself recently said that he expects to die “really soon” in a conversation with a trauma and addiction therapist.

“We are all gonna die one day, of course,” Tyson said. “Then, when I look in the mirror, I see those little spots on my face, I say, ‘Wow. That means my expiration date is coming close, really soon.'”

Tyson Attacks Hulu

This comes after Tyson has spent weeks attacking the streaming service Hulu, which has allegedly produced a series on his life without his consent. Tyson went so far as to accuse Hulu of making a “slave master takeover story” of his life. He recently thanked his friend and UFC President Dana White for refusing to be involved in the project, which is titled “Mike.”

“Hulu tried to desperately pay my brother Dana White millions without offering me a dollar to promote their slave master takeover story about my life,” Tyson said. “He turned it down because he honors friendship and treating people with dignity.”

“I’ll never forget what he did for me just like I’ll never forget what Hulu stole from me,” he continued.

Tyson was only 18 years old when he had his first professional bout back in 1985 when he beat Hector Mercedes. He quickly became known for his uniquely ferocious and intimidating style, and he would go on to become the first heavyweight boxer to hold the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles, all at the same time. He’s also the only heavyweight fighter to unify them in succession.

Tyson’s Legal and FinancialTroubles

Tyson has faced his fair share of legal troubles over the years as well, however. He served three years in prison for the 1991 rape of a teenage girl, and in 1998, he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor assault after a car accident in Maryland.  On top of that, Tyson declared bankruptcy in 2003 despite earning over $30 million for several of his fights and $300 million across his career.

Fortunately, he’s been able to make a financial comeback, if not a comeback to the ring. He now has a successful podcast called ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson’ and a multimillion dollars marijuana business.

Clearly, Tyson has been through quite a lot in his life, and it all appears to have taken a toll on his body. But we hope and pray that he’s got many years left!
