Jon Gosselin has accused his ex-wife Kate of stealing $100,000 from their eight children in newly-surfaced court documents.

Jon Accuses Kate Of Stealing From Their Kids

In the documents, Kate admitted that she “borrowed” $100,000 from a trust fund that belongs to the eight children that she shares with Jon, who fired back by telling The Sun this week that she has yet to pay back the money. He went so far as to brand Kate “disgusting” for doing such a “morally wrong” thing.

Jon explained that he noticed the money missing from their children Hannah and Collin’s trust accounts after he gained custody of the two of them back in 2018. During their marriage, Jon and Kate had set up a trust fund for their children to hold their earnings from their various public appearances.

When confronted about this in court, Kate admitted that she took out two payments of $50,000 from the trust fund, saying, “I will have to keep borrowing from it to survive.”

She went on to allege that the assets were being used to “meet her and the children’s expenses.” However, it has since been revealed that Kate bought a $750,000 lakeside home in North Carolina with a swimming pool that very same year.

‘Disgusting…Morally Wrong’

“It’s disgusting and it’s morally wrong,” Jon said. “Parents are not supposed to withdraw any money from these accounts without permission and without drawing up paperwork that they will pay it back – but she has produced no paperwork and no payments have been made. You can’t just live off your kids’ money.”

“It makes me feel disgusted. She has been on TV telling the world she has saved her children’s money when she’s actually been stealing from them – she’s a hypocrite,” he added. “There’s been no remorse from her at all. Now they’re 18 she thinks she can get away scot-free.”

In her testimony, Kate attempted to argue that her children actually owe her thousands of dollars in school fees that she’s paid for them in the past.

“I mean I paid $387,000 for their private school tuition out of our income, not the trust over the years,” she said. “So I mean I’m not looking to collect that but I borrowed $100,000 from the kids’ trust. And it owes me $387,000 technically.”

Jon And Judge Fire Back

Jon, however, was not having any of it. He slammed her claims that her kids owed her for paying for their schooling as “crazy.” The judge agreed, saying that Kate needed to make plans to repay the loans.

“If these truly were loans there should be evidence of repayments sometime in the future,” the judge said, adding that “the evidence does not support mother’s argument that her earning capacity is zero.”

The judge also said that Kate has a “lack of credibility” when it comes to her children’s finances and that she was liable to pay child support and arrears. Jon said this week that none of the money that Kate took from Hannah and Colin has been repaid to them in the years since.

“My attorneys have asked her for paperwork and she has not produced anything,” Jon said. “I haven’t seen the other children’s accounts because even though I was supposed to get quarterly bank statements for all the children, she never produced them.

“We thought maybe when she sold her Pennsylvania house she’d use some of that money to replenish the accounts, but she has not,” he added.

‘Hannah And Collin Are Really Mad’

Jon went on to say that Hannah and Collin are livid that their own mother has stolen money from them.

“Hannah and Collin are really mad,” he said. “Hannah called Kate the other day about it but Kate didn’t seem to care. I don’t know what the other children know about this money. I want them to know about this. Now Hannah and Collin are 18 – it’s up to them to file a civil suit against her to get the money back. It’s an obscene amount of money and it’s their money.”

Jon and Kate rose to fame starring on the TLC reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which featured them with their twins and their sextuplets. The show appears to have taken a toll on their marriage, which came to an end in 2009 when they had a contentious divorce.

Kate’s attorney declined to comment on the allegations that she stole money from her children. It remains to be seen whether Hannah and Collin will decide to take her to court over these claims.
