Jon Gosselin of “Jon & Kate Plus 8” fame announced he is calling it quits with girlfriend Colleen Conrad after seven years. This came as a shock to many given Conrad had only recently went public with news that she is battling breast cancer.

Jon Gosselin And Girlfriend Colleen Conrad Break Up
“After seven years together living as a family, Jon and Colleen have decided it’s time to move on,” a source told Entertainment Tonight.
“This wasn’t an easy decision for them, one they didn’t take lightly. Jon wanted nothing more than to make his relationship work with Colleen,” the insider added. “They tried both couples and family therapy but, in the end, realized they were better off as friends.”
Jon and Colleen grew up together in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, but they did not begin dating until 2014.
Jon has eight children with his ex-wife Kate Gosselin, and Colleen is a mother of two from a previous relationship.

Colleen Conrad Has Breast Cancer
Jon Gosselin’s break up news came just days after Colleen revealed on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with “Stage 2, triple-negative breast cancer” in April.
The diagnosis came in after a mass was found in her right breast following a mammogram that she says she put “off for almost two-and-a-half years.” She underwent a single mastectomy and a DIEP Flap procedure last month.
“I feel good,” she wrote alongside selfies that were taken at the hospital. “After my surgery, I found it had not spread to the nodes, thank God, and they were able to downgrade to stage 1.”

Colleen decided to go public in order to “remind everyone not to put off your mammograms and do your monthly breast exams.”
“Set a monthly alarm if needed. Even men, who can also get breast cancer,” she continued. “Early detection will make the world of difference and give you a better fighting chance.”
Colleen concluded by saying that she has “one last surgery in about two months,” but that she currently feels good.

Jon Gosselin Often Gushed About Colleen
Jon had gushed about Colleen often in interviews, and he was even considering marrying her at one point.
“She makes everything normal and comfortable and we have normal lives — this isn’t really normal for us,” he said of Colleen, a registered nurse, in 2018. “But it’s good, you know, to travel and get to see different things. It’s like reliving my past, but with someone I really love and care about. So, it’s nice to enjoy that.”
When asked about marrying Colleen, Jon said, “That’s a lot of pressure, I don’t know. That’s a cliffhanger… I have no idea.”
We would like to wish Colleen the best of luck in her cancer battle, and we’re saddened to see that things did not work out with her and Jon.
Hopefully, Jon Gosselin and Colleen Conrad’s break up is the best decision for everyone involved.
